Eight Below
An American geologist flies to Antarctica to participate in a project at the United States Research Base. Once there, he teams up with arctic guide Jerry Shepard and his best friend, Cooper. The scientist soon discovers that Shepard also has eight other valuable friends, a pack of sled dogs he's worked with for years who have rescued him from a number of tight spots. As the three men explore a frozen mountain region, an unexpected accident coupled with a massive storm front forces them to fly to safety, leaving the dogs behind. Shepard is determined to rescue his canine friends, but he has to wait until the weather will allow him to travel back to the mountain. Now, the dogs must struggle against the elements to survive as they attempt to make their way back home.

Awesome movie! Even better that it's based on real events. It may not necessarily be appropriate for young children but what an ending. Paul Walker was great in the movie.

I gave this movie 2 stars, not because it was a bad movie, but due to the fact that it was awful to watch.

My 5 year old cried so much that we had to fast forward to the end of the movie so that she could see that some of the dogs ended up rescued.

I was appallled that this is based on a true story, and that no one would save a bunch of dogs chained outside in the freezing cold.

Although the real story is even more horrific.

Great movie for the whole family. It's amazing to think that this was a true story, considering what the dogs went through and how "Jerry" saved them. I really recommend it!!

This is a good film. An example of how extradordinary dogs are. You will go through a range of emotions as you see what the dogs have to go through to survive. Antartica vs man and dog. What an adventure!
