Item Details

A fictional film set in the alluring world of one of the most stunning scandals to rock our nation, American Hustle is the story of brilliant con man Irving Rosenfeld, who along with his equally cunning and seductive British partner Sydney Prosser, is forced to work for wild FBI agent Richie DiMaso. DiMaso pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafia that's as dangerous as it is enchanting. Carmine Polito is the passionate, volatile, New Jersey political operator caught between the cons and Feds. Irving's unpredictable wife Rosalyn could be the one to pull the thread that brings the entire world crashing down.

Please do not assess fine on this item, I will return this on Monday Oct 27th.

Thank you,

They blew their chance on this movie.
With all the talent and a great story and
the head long attempt at some artsy
dynamic turned out to be and ill conceived hodgepodge, a poorly glued together bunch of scenes. I admire the attempt, maybe too many cooks in the broth? Look elsewhere.

Total disappointment based on the acclaim it received.

The highlight of this movie is a real life quote from Robert DeNiro's cameo exposing the truth to all the POLITICAL ZOMBIES aka average black people in real life that LOVE the RACISTS in real life so much they refuse to stop buying their stuff that they don't need and really don't want period. This movie is really a slick but blatant rip-off of earlier but much better films that i been seeing for almost 4 decades now,BUT I DIGRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not quite as dark as "The Wolf of Wall Street," but about the best that can be said is that it may have been one of the best of the really terribly crop of 2013 movies.

I am not sure what expected out of this movie, but after all the hype, more than this. I too, am old enough to remember this event.

I fell asleep sometime shortly after they decide they need a suite at a big hotel to go after some congressmen. I'm sorry. I just could not make it another minute. I will try to pick it up where I fell asleep and watch the rest of it, as I do want to see the ending.

Is it just me or is Amy Adams really, really BAD? Her character has NO personality or depth. I get that she is supposed to be pretty shallow anyway, but this is not the way to play that. I just could not believe how horrible she was.

I had heard a lot of good hype about this, but it didn't look that appealing to me. I thought it was well acted, good story and loved the dynamics between the different characters. It started kind of slow but once they got it to it, it was fantastic. It felt kind of like Good Fellas a little bit.

has humorous scenes, cinematography is excellent, interesting enough to watch w/o pausing but script is not all that original.

Disc 3 2303 00333 8175 stops playing around scene 10. Disc 3 2303 00334 5733 plays movie in its entirety. Gotta love that American Hustle because isn't that how the game is played?

Irving Rosenfeld: ... You can fool yourself for just so long, that your next reinvention you better have your damn feet on the ground ... The art of survival, is a story that never ends ... Irving Rosenfeld: Did you ever have to find a way to survive and you knew your choices were bad, *but* you had to survive?

Paco Hernandez: Yeah, I think the name of this operation is offensive. This whole thing is racist. What, ABSCAM? "Arab-scam"? It's racist! --- Irving Rosenfeld: When you are offered a favor or money, take the favor, not the money. Jesus said that, didn't he? ---- Sydney Prosser: [reluctantly realizing his angle] Everybody at the bottom crosses paths eventually in a pool of desperation and you're waiting for them...---Irving Rosenfeld: How about "we"?
