Ender's Game
A hostile alien race attacked Earth, and if not for the legendary heroics of Fleet Commander Mazer Rackham, all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, Colonel Hyrum Graff is training only the best young children. Ender Wiggin, a shy, but brilliant boy, is soon ordained by Graff as the military's next great hope. Once at Command School, he's trained by Mazer Rackham, himself, to lead them into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.

Excellent job of smashing a 300+ page book into a 2 hour movie. If you are trying to get a teen or pre-teen to read more, this movie should get her or him started on this series. _Ender's Shadow_ is the best place to start, although it is not the first book.

Books are always so much better than the movie versions. I'll stick with the book which was FANTASTIC! I'm reading everything of Card's I can get my hands on. Don't want someone else's mental movie taking over mine. Harrison Ford - nah

While it is nice Sci-Fi. to watch for an Adult. I would not recommend this title for Children without a serious discussion of Genocide for Children whom are old enough to Understand such major topics.

Just another PRO-MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX/ EPIC VIDEO GAME YOU CAN'T PLAY that was supposed to be a real movie. This time the target is clearly underage children in real life worldwide, not just USA children period.Only those that really don't know what this film is really all about like or love this movie even period.I really hope they aka HOLLYWOOD stop their explicit MILITARY recruitment of children in real life via this film by not making stinking sequel(s) to this behavior placement,MK ULTRA BRAINWASH of children in real life period,BUT I DIGRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stupid movie, stupid book. If your whole premise is that the only hope for all of humanity are "special teenagers" then we're doomed. The actor who plays 'Ender' delievers a yeoman performance at best and aspires to look like he's 8, much less like a teenager. Hard to suspend ones disbelief, when your hero looks like he couldn't hold his own against a stiff breeze, much less a legion of alien bugs.

Maybe the book is better but the movie is bad.

I guess this is more of a kids movie than a teen movie, since there's no hint of sex, but this is *not* a great sf movie.

Good sci fi tale with super animation & special effect; not sure why commander Rackham was not leading the fleet but defered to boy Ender this time.

Decent, and I didn't think it was that slow (as some reviewers indicated). I haven't read the book so I can't comment on that. The characters did seems a little one dimensional. I did like that the kid resisted authority, but only to a point, and was used with out his knowing it till it was too late. A valuable lesson there. Perhaps there is a commentary on retaliatory strikes there similar to Iraq and our war to prevent those never found WMD from being used. My biggest peeve was that they tried to invade for our water. That is ridiculous (and has been used before in other sci fi). Uranus has more water than we do and nobody would shoot at them. If the reason they attacked us was because they were afraid we would take over other planets and destroy them like we have ours, that I would have bought...

Colonel Graff: Tell me why you kept on kicking him. You had already won.
Ender Wiggin: Knocking him down won the first fight. I wanted to win all the next ones, too. So they'd leave me alone.
Colonel Graff: We won! That's all that matters.
Ender Wiggin: No. The *way* we win matters.
