Jane Hayes's adoration of all things Jane Austen is complicating her love life. Determined to be the heroine of her own story, Jane spends her life savings on a trip to Austenland, an eccentric Austen-inspired resort, where she meets two very different gentlemen, but has a difficult time determining where fantasy ends and real life, and maybe even love, begins.

Light, predictable. A good flick when you're in the mood for same.

I loved this movie. Admittedly the book was WAAAY better. But it had fun bits in it. Well done Sony Pictures Classics, well done

I loved this movie so much the first time I randomly watched it, that it didn't take me long to rewatch it in the same day. Ha! I'm not by any means obsessed with Jane Austen, haven't read most of the books and have only really ever enjoyed the Mansfield Park films, but that doesn't mean I still didn't enjoy this movie and relate to the main character by simply substituting any one of my many fandoms. Also, I'd really to go Austenland if it were real. I laughed quite a few times out loud to this film, which in my book makes it a good deal!

This is really NOT a good movie. It's clunky, predictable and over the top - not in a good way. If you want to watch good Austen-themed entertainment, choose the mini-series Lost in Austen instead. HPL has it too and it's better done and much, much cleverer.

If you have read a Jane Austen book you will appreciate this comedy's take on the world of Jane Austen. There are references to many of her works. The movie follows an obsessed fan as she immerses herself in the world of Jane Austen. There is even a dreamy Mr. Darcy character. I laughed many times. I have taken this out so many times from the library I am sure my co-workers are wondering about me LOL. I highly recommend this movie to all Austen fans and romantic comedy lovers.

The meta-drama here is spectacular. I found it very very funny. There are some scenes that just keep giving. Never would I have thought that Keri Russell and Jennifer Coolidge would play so well side by side. That said, this movie has some parts that are abrupt and go into weird land for a spell before it comes back and gives the typical rom-com ending (which is not a bad thing). Austenland is a little weird and VERY funny. If you have read Austen works and can relate to the zeal of Austen aficionados and can both appreciate and poke fun at it, this will be an enjoyable movie experience.

I have not laughed so much since the original "Hangover" (COMPLETE OPPOSITE to this movie). It just kept getting better. I love horses, and historic castles, and Austen's wit, and this movie has it all, including Mr. Darcy played by Tom Hiddleston's ear-y twin brother. I am going to insist that my best friend watch this with me. I recommend it to anyone, it's more Monty Python/Blackadder/Muppets Movies than sicky-sweet American rom-com genre. (also no sex/violence, so your grandma can watch too).

Fluffy rom-com with almost nothing to do with Austen.

Chick movie for sure. The best word I can describe this movie is adorable. I would watch it again. Pure fluff but fun.
