Jane Hayes's adoration of all things Jane Austen is complicating her love life. Determined to be the heroine of her own story, Jane spends her life savings on a trip to Austenland, an eccentric Austen-inspired resort, where she meets two very different gentlemen, but has a difficult time determining where fantasy ends and real life, and maybe even love, begins.

The meta-drama here is spectacular. I found it very very funny. There are some scenes that just keep giving. Never would I have thought that Keri Russell and Jennifer Coolidge would play so well side by side. That said, this movie has some parts that are abrupt and go into weird land for a spell before it comes back and gives the typical rom-com ending (which is not a bad thing). Austenland is a little weird and VERY funny. If you have read Austen works and can relate to the zeal of Austen aficionados and can both appreciate and poke fun at it, this will be an enjoyable movie experience.

I have not laughed so much since the original "Hangover" (COMPLETE OPPOSITE to this movie). It just kept getting better. I love horses, and historic castles, and Austen's wit, and this movie has it all, including Mr. Darcy played by Tom Hiddleston's ear-y twin brother. I am going to insist that my best friend watch this with me. I recommend it to anyone, it's more Monty Python/Blackadder/Muppets Movies than sicky-sweet American rom-com genre. (also no sex/violence, so your grandma can watch too).

Fluffy rom-com with almost nothing to do with Austen.

Chick movie for sure. The best word I can describe this movie is adorable. I would watch it again. Pure fluff but fun.

This movie was better than I thought it was going to be. A cute, girly, Friday night, chick flick. Jennifer Coolidge is funny as always.

Was feeling abit down when I watched it and it definitely cheered me up. Snorted at just about everything just because I could. Although it won't be winning any awards any time soon, its totally cute in cliche sort of way. I really love the costumes ^^~

Lightweight chick-flick. Keri Russell's character gives us no indication of why anyone would be attracted to her; her main appeal seems to be that she is the least-obnoxious of the three female guests at the resort. The cast gives it their best, but it's still a bunch of fluff.

As most people have stated, this could have been much better. I adore Keri Russell as an actress and she was charming in this one, too. If you haven't seen Waitress yet I'd recommend it.
