Anybody else noticed this is only an excuse to put a crapload of famous people together and have them use excessive violence & blow everything up?

They could have distilled all the scenes and characters in this flick that were worthwhile into maybe a 20 minute short. The rest was so full of poorly executed, over-the-top, look-it's-so-bad-it's-good! nonsense it made the first "Machete" (which I enjoyed a lot) seem like House of Cards. Check it out if you must, be be prepared to fast forward some bits to keep your sanity.

Machete is back in Machete Kills this time around he is trying to save the world. I have to say I really enjoyed this movie which is more a nod towards 80s films unlike the first Machete which was more a nod to 70s grindhouse flicks. It also has a good deal of humor than the the first one which while others did not like I enjoyed. The trailer for Machete Kills in Space at the being made me laugh and hope that the movie is made. There a good deal of special effects and many are meant to look bad, which is part of it's charm. If one doesn't like the wild over the top action flicks of 80s than I say go look somewhere else if one wants a silly wild funny ride then this is your flick.

Great movie! Number one in the series. Kills with a boat. Classic! ft

I'll repeat what some others have already said: The first was better, but this was still sexy, and lots of fun. And it's definitely not for everyone. It is for me. Danny Trejo cracks me up with his perma-scowl. And he does pretty well for almost 70 years old. I hope there is a 'Machete Kills Again... In Space!' Hilarious.

Very good over-the-top grindhouse style action movie (spoof may be inserted here most likely). Not as good as the first Machete, but still a fun and often hilarious actioner. Gory and sexy. I can see how this wouldn't be for everyone, but if you like the exploitation films from the 70's (or some of the over-the-top actioners from the 80's), this may be alot of fun for you. Do not look for plot, acting or realism. Oh, and Mel Gibson is great in it (I'm so not kidding. Best lines. Best delivery.)

Quite possibly the best film ever made from a fake trailer, the first "Machete" was ridiculous, bloody fun and a rare starring role for the awesomely weather Danny Trejo, who is now showing up all over TV ("Sons of Anarchy," "Breaking Bad," "Maron"). I'm not sure they needed a sequel, but I couldn't resist seeing this. I'm sure there will be a lot of comments about how bad or dumb this is, but that misses the point. Absurd, gratuitous, over the top and sometimes incoherent, "Machete Kills" delivers what you want: bloody thrills, one-liners ("Machete happens."), overacting and lots of Hispanic actors. Its somewhat haphazard references include "Star Wars," "Dr. Strangelove" and various Bond films. The overstuffed cast includes Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Charlie Sheen (as the president), a creepy looking Mel Gibson, Lady Gaga (why not?), Antonio Banderas and Sofia Vergara sporting a bullet shooting bra. The film ends with a fake trailer (or is it?) for "Machete in Space."

This was a summation of all the worst things about Robert Rodriguez.

movie is for people who like a mindless story. the first one is much better. Danny is great. I am a fan of his. But he can do much better.
