Item Details

Aubrey and Paul Davison decide to celebrate their wedding anniversary by inviting their four children and their significant others to a family reunion at their remote and slightly rundown weekend estate. But the family reunion goes awry when their home comes under siege by a mask-wearing team of crossbow-bearing assailants. The family has no idea who's attacking them or why. All they know for certain is that nobody is safe.

Just awful....lol I'm very open minded about movies and realize that horror movies usually don't have the greatest of actors. But oh my. The acting was horrid. Didn't even finish it...lol

We open with a random murder and then move to a classic horror trope of dysfunctional family meets for an event. Said event is interrupted by a crossbow bolt to the head and then the usual shenanigans start. Then the usual shenanigans becomes a bit of a B movie and then that gets flipped too. It knows its audience so that makes it more interesting and mildly enjoyable despite the three genre flips going on. I didn't fall in love with it - though they certainly courted me with the character of Erin and a death involving a common kitchen appliance - but it was a nice change from most home invasion/slasher films.

As a comedy, I would definitely give it an A+. As a horror film, I would give it an epic fail. The script alone is priceless. At 1:10 into the movie, one of the characters sums it up perfectly in four words: ''What a fu*king disaster!''

Originally i dragged my feet to watch this, i was afraid of another "The Strangers" ripoff, but was happily surprised. The acting and scripting isn't overly clever it's normal and actually, dare i say it, believable. Not too scary but entertaining.

Kev's PICkS : For an fun-filled Home Invasion double-header,.. see this film together with and right after viewing 'The Purge'. Invite friends over and have popcorn (but skip the pizza) for this brighter-than-average double gorefest.

Above average home invasion/slasher horror film. Slightly more engaging storyline than normal for the genre. Good kill scenes. Decent tension. Strong, capable female protagonist (so that alone goes against the norm).
