Two cops are dispatched by the Rest In Peace Department (R.I.P.D.) to protect and serve the living from increasingly destructive spirits hiding among the unsuspecting Earth. When they uncover a plot that could end life as we know it, the new partners have to turn grudging respect into top-notch teamwork to restore the cosmic balance-or watch the tunnel to the afterlife begin sending angry souls the very wrong way.

Interesting premise but echoes of other movies---Ghost, Men in Black.

Is good for a fun evening's watch but certainly there have been far better movies made out there that could've covered this exact same story and plot. And why is Jeff Bridges still talking like Rooster Cogburn? Apparently he's using this voice in all his acting performances and it's as grating as fingernails on a chalkboard. Problem is, the voice he uses is distracting. .

Light entertainment created from a graphic novel. Fun but will be forgotten after you see it.

Entertaining flick which mixes cop/ sci-fi/comedy/adventure genres, but it's ultimately the buddy relationship between leads Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds that makes this film fly. Uneven CG effects and too little face time for Mary-Louise Parker detract from what could have been an adventure classic, and please tell Kevin Bacon that his best performances are the understated, measured ones!

Some good special effects, good acting, and it had its moments, but it always seemed like a poor man's Men In Black. In the end it's acceptable light weight entertainment that might have been a lot better.
