Good quality cable series fare except for the BLOAT. Long 'emotional' scenes accomplishing nothing. They stretched it out to at least double it's length. Usually these series have more plot than they can fit in and have to cut--here they s-t-r-e-t-c-h. The initial plot wasn't meant to last this long; their series plot strategy was off track from the beginning. The writers are KING here, so from whence the confusion? Too many Brits runnin' all over???

Better than the first season almost to an episode (save for the first half of the final episode) though some of the premise of the story, especially the romance, to me still continues to be flimsy, it is so well acted that it's hard to ignore. I think some things and characters could have remained in play a little longer and sustained a level of interest in the series that I'm not sure will survive all of the next season. I guess time will tell.

As the second season of Homeland begins Nicolas Brody has been elected to Congress and Carrie Mathison is recuperating from ECT at her father's home. Brody's handler contacts him and tells him to be prepared to help carry out a new terrorist attack. Carrie is brought back to work at the CIA as a civilian consultant on an off the books investigation into Brody. As the season unfolds personal, family and country allegiances are put the test. The second season of Homeland is a great mix of espionage, intrigue and personal turmoil.

High intensity scene after scene with little time to relax for hooked viewers like me. Super wrap up in season finale, all set for what comes in season three for Carrie and Brody.
