Add a CommentBefore I watched this: Honestly I hated the book I didn't even give it a star. But I'm renting and watching it because my English teacher says its better then the book. Ok lets see if this is true... After I watched: Here is what I thought of the film: It was better then the movie. I still don't love this story but I liked it better as a film.
i toatly want to watch this moive oppps you are stupid
read the book first
Truly outstanding. The messages of this story are powerful. The visual and sound effects are amazing. And the CG portrayal of the animals as well as many portions of the set show a new level of achievement. After watching this DVD, I am convinced it deserved "Best Picture" at the 2013 Oscars. At least Ang Lee won for best director, Mychael Dannaand won for best original musical score (a Torontonian who studied with Glenn Gould), plus best achievement in both cinematography as well as visual effects. This movie speaks to everyone, no matter your age, gender or nationality. A true work of art.
I found this was an over-rated movie. If people are looking for a meaning to life, it takes more than one film to give them an answer.
Excellent film about a young man's experience being stranded on the high seas with a tiger. Beautifully photographed and full of life lessons.
An incredible story... Soul stirring. Whole. Raw. Gorgeous and primal to the core. Just finished watching this movie on Netflix and wanted to look up the book at the library. There are 20 copies of this film in the Austin library system. And there are 104 holds on these copies presently!
loved it
I really enjoyed this movie. I had read the book and loved it and didn't think the movie could stay true to the book but I was wrong. The cinematography was beautiful - even more than I had imagined. I didn't find the movie slow at all, there were plenty of emotional/action scenes between Pi and the Tiger throughout the movie to keep you on the edge of your seat. I can't wait for my son to be old enough to watch it.
Very Very slooooooow, not for anyone who watches a lot of action movies. Amazing graphics as expected, and a BASICALLY believeable story line. Pretty much worth the watch.
