Very well done indeed. One of the best recent movies I have seen. Appropriate for nearly everyone, with parental mentoring.

Very intense and engaging. You find yourself at the edge of your seat hoping for a positive outcome for these victims of Nature's fury. Strong film.

Excellent drama. Don't forget to watch the 'Extras' to see how they created the tsunami scenes. Fascinating!

Excellent movie. Captured the true to life experience of one surviving family. If I was mortally wounded I would appreciate transportation to medical aid. No complaints here.

I cried like a baby the whole way through. You gotta see this movie. Have tissues ready!!

Since this movie is based on a true story and the special effects are so intense, it is a bit difficult to watch at times. The film is quite an emotional undertaking, but the compassionate nature of humans is an encouraging theme throughout the movie. Excellent acting!

Simply an unforgettable movie which shows the compassion we all have when we are really in need of help. I want to warn you, if you are like me and the sight of blood can make you turn blue, then skip this one. The movie is very intense and my wife and I were on the edge of our seats rooting for the family in The Impossible.

If this was not a true story, I would have ranked this much lower. I was disappointed with the overall movie as it was very predictable and I agree with several reviewers comments about the elitism/privilege shown at the end. I thought that was truly a slap in the face to so many others that have suffered. The older son steals the movie and his touching and courageous actions are well depicted. The encounters with other characters in the movie are touching and interesting. I was also very disappointed there were no interviews or special features about the family or the devastation of the tsunami in general. It would have been interesting to hear how this experience affected the family.

What makes this absolutely incredible and unbelievable is that it's a one in a lifetime chance. Based on a true story, these Spanish vacationers were hit by the tsunami, were separated and survived. It would have been more relevant to focus on the situation faced by locals, but the story is about the unlikeliness of everyone in a family surviving, not necessarily a documentary about the impact on the locals. A good movie, touching and hard to watch in places.

Frightening or Intense Scenes: This film revolves around the occurrence and ensuing aftermath of a tsunami. The event itself can be horrifying and emotionally traumatizing to some.
