Very good book. I really enjoyed the characters -- they definitely show how you never know who will impact you/ your life and in what way. The emotions were very real...I both laughed and cried.
I look forward to reading more by this author.

Slow at first and predictable, but it grew on me. The multimedia touches, like receipts, playlists, etc. were fun. This book captures the feel of a road trip well and is a decent substitute for a real trip for when you can't just take a road trip yourself.

Great road trip book with some emotional heft to it as well. Perfect summer reading!

From the back cover of Amy and Roger's Epic Detour... " It wouldn't be a road trip without some detours... Amy Curry is not looking forward to the summer. Her mother decided to move across the country and now it's Amy's responsibility to get their car from California to Connecticut. The only problem is, since her father died in a car accident, she isn't ready to get behind the wheel. Enter Roger. An old family friend, he also has to make the cross-country trip--and has plenty of baggage of his own. The road home may be unfamiliar--especially with their friendship venturing into uncharted territory--but together, Amy and Roger will figure out how to map their way."
