Add a Commentas a horror fanatic and a lover the stories that come out of Chernobyl (about mutant animals ghost kids ect) I waited for almost a year to see this one. sorry to say the trailers showed the best parts of the movie. the lead up with the actual walk thru of the Chernobyl site was very cool. other than that a big let down but i may have just gone in expecting so much as the horror community was BUzzing about this one for ever.
A not too bad horror movie. I really liked the setup and the initial scenes at Chernobyl before the main action started. Since the budget isn't high, once the action starts they on purpose don't show much of the creatures/mutants. I didn't even hate any of the characters really, although they weren't developed enough to care about as they are killed off. Ending was OK too. Dark. If you like B horror movies, you'll find this one enjoyable.
I found this film to be entertaining and suspenseful if not outright horrific. I admit it takes awhile to get started, but that doesn't mean it's boring. The plot continues to build with new information and the actors interact believably to keep it entertaining. If you're just looking for the boogie man to come out and start the body count at the thirty minute mark, then this probably is not for you. What is attacking them takes time to discover and develop. The director takes his time building suspense and takes advantage of the 'what is not seen is scarier in your mind that what you do see' for most of the film. I think the people who pan the acting may be too used to Hollywood-style acting with its posing and overly dramatic style. (Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs is anything BUT a realistic human being). And this is NOT a documentary style Horror Film. There's a scene where one of the characters leaves a video message on a camera but that's it.
The idea was good…but the lighting was terrible.
The worst kind of documentary style horror. Boring. Spends a very long time (30-45 minutes)getting around to even attempting to be scary. Then fails. The last 20 or so minutes are similar to a bad zombie movie. The characters are idiots. Poor in every way. I did finish watching it, hence the single star.
Agree with all below. Subject good but storyline and acting very bad. Glad I did not purchase.
Perhaps the most pathetic movie I have had the displeasure of viewing all year.
Be warned - I thought this was a true story. It is not, but it is a Horror movie with a lot of bad acting. I would not recommend anyone watch this.
Many thanks to everyone for saving me an hour and a half. I just took it out,.. but I'll return this one unseen. Thanks again,.. Kev Farley
this movie just plain out SUCKSSS like you cant see anything thatS happening throughout cuz its just so dark. so you are ALWAYS trying to guess where people are going, doing, why in the helll they are screaming and all that. JUST DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS ONEE SOOOO HORRIBLE.
