This was quite a suspenseful thriller. I watched it several times. Nice group of friends vacation on an extreme tour to an empty town located near the fallout of Chernobyl. They are closer than they think, and as they become more contaminated with radioactive dust and other radiation exposure, they are drawn into an underworld of different entities--something in between as you would think would protect an Aztec temple and a radioactive friendly fido. Many surprises. The river scenes seem a bit contrived, but overall this was an excellent thriller.

well... someone had three really good ideas for plots, unfortunatly they combined them all in this movie. It just doesn't work.

I honestly really liked this movie. I was on edge the whole time while I was watching it. They had a really good story plot and they really got you to think "well what would I do if I was in this situation" sort of thing. After the movie was done I was a little confused though they didn't really explain why the doctors did what they did.

It would be irresponsible to rate this movie more than half a star. Hope our libraries got paid to put this DVD in their catalogues ... but why waste their patrons time checking out and watching this "junk"? See what Boston Globe critic said: "The real stars of the movie are the tired devices and plot points. They're famous, but they're as old as Betty White: The Guide Is Dead, The Van Won't Start, Her Shirt Has a Plunging Neckline, Don't Go in There.

as a horror fanatic and a lover the stories that come out of Chernobyl (about mutant animals ghost kids ect) I waited for almost a year to see this one. sorry to say the trailers showed the best parts of the movie. the lead up with the actual walk thru of the Chernobyl site was very cool. other than that a big let down but i may have just gone in expecting so much as the horror community was BUzzing about this one for ever.

A not too bad horror movie. I really liked the setup and the initial scenes at Chernobyl before the main action started. Since the budget isn't high, once the action starts they on purpose don't show much of the creatures/mutants. I didn't even hate any of the characters really, although they weren't developed enough to care about as they are killed off. Ending was OK too. Dark. If you like B horror movies, you'll find this one enjoyable.

The idea was good…but the lighting was terrible.

The worst kind of documentary style horror. Boring. Spends a very long time (30-45 minutes)getting around to even attempting to be scary. Then fails. The last 20 or so minutes are similar to a bad zombie movie. The characters are idiots. Poor in every way. I did finish watching it, hence the single star.
