Check out the web site: machinegunpreacher.org Every little bit helps! Does G-d move you to help?
very good
Intense, action packed, shocking and heart wrenching. Had my emotions in a whirlwind. Left me in a state of shock and dismay, making me want to donate to his cause.
The best movie I have seen in a long time. The acting was great and believable. It is a very sad movie, definitely not for children. It had me crying several times throughout. It should move you and make you angry at what is going on over there. There may be the word "preacher" in the title and the main character is a Christian, but like someone else said, it is not preachy. In my opinion, this is not actually a Christian movie. This movie makes me happy that there are actually good people out there trying to fight the evil in this world. Highly recommend!!
Truly sad to see the suffering still going on in different parts of the world. Average in entertainment, but a very good story which needs to be told.
Saw on Netflix Instant. Even though it's based on a true story i didn't seem to care about the characters or the story. This is mostly likely because Butler is such a bad actor.
Jumpy storytelling and rather uncompelling dialogue and scenes are balanced by a rather raw, macabre, and emotional depiction of events in the Sudan. This should have been promoted in conjunction with the Kony 2012 campaign. Despite the overtly religious subject matter, it doesn't get overly preachy and doesn't get bogged down in Childers' conversion.
And a new day will dawn, for those who stand long & the forests will echo with laughter.
Good – Machine Gun Preacher (2011) 129 min. Based on a true story account of American Sam Childers (played by Gerard Butler) bringing the war in Sudan to the rebels. Though the film is never dull and at times heart-wrenching to reflect on such evil done to the children in Sudan, the film takes a quick approach to Childers’ conversion which left me in doubt. Other than that, the film educates on the terrible and tragic “goings-on” in Sudan.
