Waste of time
Surprised at how much I liked this movie. Not really scary per se, but very creepy. Daniel Radcliffe was very good and was good enough that I didn't think the movie was Harry Potter in a haunted house. Sad story though with good acting, music, and scenes that made me jump. Liked the old-time setting too. Worth watching for sure. Wasn't this movie based on a play? I seem to recall 25 years ago seeing this as a play at the Grand Theatre in London and recall it was a scary play too. But maybe I'm wrong.
Yes. This Supernatural/Thriller certainly may have been flawed, but, as far as ghost stories go, it actually did manage to deliver quite an effective, little slice of genuine eeriness, in its own right._____ What I really appreciated about The Woman In Black was that it didn't repeatedly clobber the viewer over the head with the usual excess of gore and buckets of blood splattered all over the place._____ This was a low-keyed and finely-tuned ghost story that undoubtedly had its fair share of frightening moments and worthwhile scares, as well._____ Featuring some very impressive cinematography, this fine (but somewhat flawed) example of Gothic Horror was effectively set in the UK._____ Apparently this picture was a remake of the 1989 TV movie of the same name.
Meh. A few creepy zingers, that's it. I really anticipated something more from this one. Radcliffe was good. Overall -- mediocre.
I found this movie to be creepy and a good period piece. Also, I felt the acting was good.
very disappointed with this. wanted to see for ages & then they spoil it with a totally annoying & stupid ending. lots of subtle horror rather than blood & gore so it made it well jump off your seat scary, but that ending! a bit like the way they ruined 4 weddings & a funeral with a stupid ending (in my humble opinion that is).
It seems like this film tells the story of a dead spirit haunting the living in a remote town until it can get justice for past grievances. I say seems, as I am not 100% certain. But there are some really unnerving moments and the mysteries slowly are rolled out for you to ponder. If you like scary movies without a lot of blood, then this may be for you. The ending is sort of miraculous, but not the kind you are expecting.
Surprisingly, I like it more than "The Amazing Spider-Man", which bored me after 15 min of watching, nothing new, sometimes very boring, I mean spider-man. "Woman in Black" was keeping my attention and was not boring at all. However, no happy-end :-)
