This book reminded me very much of The Hunger Games, but in a less brutal way. At first I didn't know what to think. I guess I was judging the book by its cover- there was a pretty girl in a pretty dress and I thought, "Oh, this is one of THOSE books," But once I started reading it, I really got into the plot and started rooting for my favorite characters and couples. I'm not usually the type to couple up the obvious couple in a story, but I guess this book had something I enjoyed very much. I'm looking forward to the sequel!

First book - so don't be disappointed to read the last few pages and not have anything resolved. I liked the book and enjoyed reading it, even though it was very " the Bachelor". I look forward to reading the 2nd book - "Elite"

Amazing book!! The plot of the books sounded extremely interesting so I decided to read it and I'm glad I did! The plot is so captivating I could not put the book down. I had to see what happened next. The characters were beautifully written. I loved America. She is a strong, funny and a great character in general. I also loved Maxon. I can't wait to read the next book! I highly recommend this book.

I adored this book and it is on my to buy list. Such a page turner, though similar to Cinderella and Hunger Games in a sense, I found it to be unique in it's own way. The characters grew on me and I loved the humour between America and the prince, though Aspen just flat out annoyed me. Can't wait for book two.

Really amazing book! I loved every part of this book! After reading the last page I'm really looking forward to the sequel "The Elite" that's coming out in April!

I picked this book off the shelf at the library because I was in the mood for a frothy sudser and the jacket blurb promised that it was "charming, captivating, and filled with just the right amount of swoon." Sounds great, kind of a knock off of a Cinderella-type thing. And from what I can tell, it's a one-off, not a series book. Great! So I'm enjoying it to the hilt, but as it gets later and I begin to see, as Jane Austen put it, "the tell-tale compression of pages" that signals the end of the book, confusion sets in. Because several significant trails have been laid, questions have been raised, and the plot remains unresolved. So now it's 2am and I have to get up for work in a few hours, but I've finished only to find "END OF BOOK ONE" on the last page. Curses! Curses upon you, Kiera Cass! Because now I have to find out what happens! Ack!

Good book, I was not a fan of the lead, America. I didn't like her much, but I liked the way she acted towards her friends.

Gavril laughed. "She sounds like a feisty one herself." "I get a lot of my stubbornness from her." "So you're stubborn, then? Have a bit of a temper?" I saw Maxon covering his mouth with his hands, laughing. "Sometimes." "If you have a temper, would you happen to be the one who yelled at our prince?" I sighed. "Yes, it was me. And right now, my mother is having a heart attack."

“Do you think the ability to sleep in counts as a special skill?” I asked Dad, trying to sound torn over the decision. “Yes, list that. And don’t forget to write that you can eat an entire meal in under five minutes,” he replied. I laughed. It was true; I did tend to inhale my food. “Oh, the both of you! Why don’t you just write down that you’re an absolute heathen!” My mother went storming from the room.
