The movie does a great job at building up suspense…that goes nowhere.

bad movie, hope Daniel Radcliff will find something better for a talented young actor as he is.

It's a great film ... and scary too! BUT ... Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) is not credible as the father of a child and as a lawyer. This brilliant boyish actor just doesn't have the presence to fill such a mature role.

Wow, after reading several of the comments I guess my husband and I are in the minority. We liked the movie very much.

We haven't seen the original version (which incidentally stars the actor who played 'James Potter'), but felt there was enough 'creep' factor to keep it going, and the acting is fabulous, not only by Daniel Radcliffe and Ciaran Hinds, but supporting cast as well.

Sure, the movie may have had some predictable aspects to it, but people really expect too much these days. Use your imagination, stop relying on so many visual effects (yep, like the 'olden' days) and you just might find the story a little creepier than you expected.

This disc is not damaged. It would not play.

I think this movie takes too long to build up. Maybe I've seen to many ghost stories, but it was very predictable and really didn't surprise me at all. Even the ending was as expected.

Pretty good, but ending left me disappointed.

It is too bad Daniel Radcliff chose to act in this dog of a movie. His acting was so much better than the screen writing and effects. The rocking chair, stuffed toy monkey, creepy doll faces were stereotypical for many cheesy horror flicks I have seen over the years.

If you were really really bored maybe you could watch this... but other than that not really worth it. :(

It is done the old fashioned way pre-tech. It is slow moving and subtle. Low tech using just lighting the story is not really strong. The actors have strong presence. This is the only thing that saved the movie. It was interesting to see The Harry Potter actor in something else. If you like ghost stories, you might like this movie.

A good old fashioned ghost story. Scary but not the typical violent, blowing up movies of the current times. Turn out the lights and prepare get your spine chilled.
