This movie is flat out stupid. I personally loved how the wolves would rather run past all of the elk standing around and instead go through fire to eat the people with sticks. Don't waste your time - I regret the 1hr I spent watching it until I came to my senses and turned the movie off.

Based on a short story The Grey is a tale of survival in the Alaskan wilderness following a plane crash. The seven oil men who survive the plane crash must battle the elements as well as a pack of grey wolves defending their territory. The grey wolf encounters are intense and throughout the movie one feels the fear, pain and suffering of the plane crash survivors .

Has its moments, especially when the men chat back and forth, philosophizing and joking. But don't worry if you don't see it - you're not really missing anything.

Very Good movie. Has some philosophical themes: Explores the life of a man who has given up, and decides to try and fight. Some people did not like the ending...well them people are dumb some. The end is like life: Uncertain. Best you can do is try and fight, even if uncertain outcomes. If you did not like this movie....you probably think Miley Cyrus twerking is art or Grown Ups was a good movie. May god have mercy on your dumb soul.

The Grey ---- (DVD - 2012) ---- Excellent!! ---- Enjoy! - Not for the young Kids to watch! ---- RichardPaul (finished 11-2013)

Have you ever wonder why the survivors just didn't start a forest fire to draw attention to their location? I wondered.

Had an intriguing element of continuous surprise. But, films with not good endings ruin films for me. If you're the kind of person that would like to see a movie about a plane crash in the tundra-nowhereness; combined with wolves that torture a group of men with gang-like mind games, well; then this is the film for you!

Don't bother with this one. I love Liam Neeson but this is one of his worst movies. Story is terrible. Made it hard to get into it, I found I was hoping for the characters to die off so that the movie would end. Pass this one by.

The movie is not a fast action thriller by any means. If you like cerebral and suspenseful flicks (ala Changling, Shawshank Redemption, etc), you will enjoy this film. Some of the events that happen aren't realistic, but so what?!!? This is a movie and some "poetic license" is okay. The biggest "delivery" the movie brings to the table is the psychological aspect. The characters face very substantial environmental difficulties ...and on top of that... they have to deal with each others personalities, beliefs, and fears. It is a metaphor for life in general. In light of constantly getting "beat up" in life, the human spirit presses on - hoping that "something better" is around the next turn. One can empathize with the characters. In the movie and in life in general, some make terrible mistakes, some just give up, and some just keep going - though they may not have a definite reason why. Neeson's acting is very compelling to watch.

I absolutely loved this movie. I went in with low expectations but came out a fan. I find a lot of peoples gripes about the movie I felt the opposite.
