First off, let's get somethjing straight, upfront. Abraham Lincoln was NOT a vampire hunter...never happened. That being said, I was only looking to this as a fluff read. You know, so bad it's good somehow? What I got however was a fast paced read mixing one of America's iconic leaders with vampires. Care was taken to make the story plausible, which is all I could hope for. Were there slow parts, or parts that were just underdeveloped? Yes. But throughout I found the book to be a colorful read, that kept me turning pages throughhout. The actual history in the book was treated fairly. Lincoln's early years; as a settler and merchant; his political career, winning the Presidency; the Civil War; and his assassination were covered. Also the turbulent and often tragic relationship with Mary Todd, the birth of three sons, having to bury two at an early age and Mary's break under the intense satrain of their life, were trated fairly. So a few vampires dropped bhy. No biggie! It was challenging to figure out where exactly the next plot twist was to come from But let's not treat this as a story of a larger than life man, which Abe still is. Let's remember to allow ourselves to laugh, and have fun with this rollicking good tale. I know I did!!

Suspend reality and enjoy learning some true facts about Mr Lincoln and the Civil War along with totally untrue and somewhat gory tales about vampires.

Not the best. I was hoping for more of a thriller. The author did a nice job of telling the story, but it got a little boring towards the end.

Interesting book that seems to put in a great many factual details about Lincoln's life. I'm thinking I should read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies just to see how the authors does it (since I'm very familiar with the original in that case).

Very creative, quick read. Its basically Seth Grahame-Smith wrote a false biography of Lincoln's private life, peppered with reality. It was clever at how he makes Abe's important life events into massive plot-points. How he was shaped into killing vampires till how he is assassinated.

The boom records a detailed history of Abraham Lincoln's journal that depicts his battle against the vampires of America. Determined to rid them after one did him wrong as a child, Lincoln describes every encounter, nead-death experience, and war wages with the creatures that lurked in the night.

In his most recent book Grahame-Smith takes on one of our most iconic presidents, Abraham Lincoln. We all know that Lincoln grew up splitting logs, was a young senator from Illinois and was known as “honest Abe.” But did you know that he was also a vampire hunter. Lincoln’s hunt for the undead started when his mother died at the hands of a vampire. He trained with the same axe that he used to chop wood, and became one of the most feared vampire hunters in the United States. When he was elected president, Lincoln used his power to emancipate the slaves that were the food source of vampires living in the south.
