Comment
Add a CommentArizona Storm survived a childhood of abuse and neglect, which culminated in escaping death at the hands of those who sold her as a sex slave. Ever since then, she has been consumed by the need to help other victims of human trafficking. During one such set-up she encountered bounty hunter Spencer Lark, who makes her feel things no other man has before. Spencer is a widower whose wife was killed by the same human trafficking ring that once held Arizona. He's convinced he can never love again, but Arizona inspires his protective instincts and lust. When she comes to him for help in bringing down another group of lowlifes, he can't refuse, knowing that she's go in alone otherwise. She's already laid a trap with herself as the bait, and Spencer doesn't want anyone to lay a hand on her... except maybe him. / I was REALLY annoyed when Arizona didn't tell anyone about the phone call from Quin! She smelled something fishy, and she knows the guys excel at stealth, but Foster finally cleared it up for me. Arizona's solution was satisfying in the end. Also, love how the guys wind up handling both the show-down and ultimately their interactions with Arizona. / It seemed a little inconsistent that Priss was shocked by Arizona going into bars and fighting, considering her own backstory, but that was a minor annoyance. Even though Arizona can be reckless, she at least has skills and she's also more sympathetic than Priss was in her story (Trace of Fever). It was nice to not only see the other characters, but to get their perspecives throughout the book. I'm pretty happy with this being the end of the series, but I definitely wouldn't mind some follow-up with Chris!
4th in the series. I liked the other three a little better. It is a great series.
I've been waiting for Arizona's story since starting this series and it was really really good. She's a great heroine and I absolutley love her
Part of a series. Must read the 3 prior to this one. It was very good.
