Add a CommentYes, Gina's fight scenes were far superior to anything you ever see with Steven Seagal (Gosh, but that guy sucks!), but the story and script were horrific.
Haywire ---- by DVD-2012 ---- if you like Action this is a movie for you. ---- ---- Performers: GINA CARANO, Michael Fassbender, Ewan McGregor, Bill Paxton, Channing Tatum, Antonio Banderas, Michael Douglas. ---- Gina the main Caracter and Star of this show is in the know of self defense and how to attack a Foe. ---- Lots of stuning action and get the bad guys kind of things going on. ---- Enjoy! ---- RichardPaul (finished 1- 2013)
“Haywire” certainly highlights Gina Carano’s martial arts skills. The film’s poor script, however, does not allow us to make a clear assessment of her acting abilities. This is a shame since many athletes make movies their second career.
A series of hand-to-hand fights barely strung together on a very thin thread of 'plot'. There is better writing and acting in an episode of the "Nikita" television series ! Michael Douglas put his name on the cover and collected a paycheck. Disappointing ! Gena was O.K.,.. but she deserved a real vehicle.
After black ops assignments in Spain and Ireland Mallory's life is turned upside down. Mallory becomes a fugitive and is being hunted down by the authorities as well as hired assassins. Throughout the movie Mallory fights for her life while trying to find out who is responsible for her situation. An action packed drama with a complex storyline.
At the end of the film, I had to ask myself: What the heck was the point? Gina sounded so metallic with her lines. Urgh. Fight scenes were ok, but overall, the film was forgettable. One watch and your done.
The action/fighting scenes were great. Parts of the movie had a unique style to it which I thought was great. But I couldn't really follow the story line and the ending made me wanna slap the T.V screen. Hopefully there'll be a part two. Gina's acting was okay for her first film, I've seen much worst acting from actors that have been in entertainment for much longer.
Watchable but nothing special.
I think this movie was unfairly overlooked when it was released. Great fight scenes (with a true MMA fighter) and a strong supporting cast give this film a unique take on the spy-revenge flick. It's a subdued and intimate movie by Steven Soderbergh. It isn't something everyone will like but it really entertained me and had me thinking about it days after.
So far-fetched, from the fighting to the storyline. Would not recommend this movie.
