I picked up this book not knowing it was part of a serie so I will read the first one. I loved the Sins of the Father kept me reading every spare minute I had. Looking forward to the new one.
Yep, after all these years and a prison sentence, our Kane and Abel author has not lost his touch. Grabs you and zips right along
I enjoyed this long awaited second book.. however I did not think it was as good as the first and had rather disapointingly weak ending. By the time of the fifth comes along I will have forgotten the first. For all of the above it lost a star.
Finished this 2nd of the trilogy within 2 days. Excellent and can't wait to read the third.
Good book with fine historical content. The ending was rather abrupt, resulting in the loss of a star from me.
A good read with a weak ending.
excellent trilogy set during WW11 mystery
I liked this book but not as well as the first one. I thought it was going to be a trilogy, and now I read there will be five books! Of course I will read all of them. By the time the 3rd one is published I am not sure I will remember the details of the first two books! Archer has a way of making the characters seem real (because they do some of the dumb things we all do at times in our lives). Easy to relate to the characters, and that is what makes a good book.
Good quick read continuing the Clifton family saga during WW2. As usual we were left with a cliffhanger and have to wait until 2013 for the continuation. Mr Archer obviously used his considerable experience of the House of Lords and his time in prison to good effect in this book.
