I love the print series, but in this film adaptation it has been Spielberged (aka Hollywooded) to death with extra standard action-movie features that surge over-the-top as the movie nears its conclusion.

Loved this film! Was a bit dubious as to how it would work, but Steven Spielberg + Peter Jackson.....Magic! Very true to the books and I loved the animation, was easy to forget they are mostly CGI. Snowy is adorable!

I had no idea what or who Tintin was, and I hadn't even heard of the movie. I was really impressed with the animation, because, like, when I saw the beginning, I had no idea that the characters weren't real people until I watched a little bit more and they started to look more comic-like. I guess that I liked it, it had a good plot and a great flow of events, but I wasn't totally blown away by it as I was other movies I've seen. But anyways, it's a good movie for the family with older kids, just because of the guns, they freaked my little sister out.

I didn't know anything about Tintin and wasn't really expecting to enjoy this movie but I really liked it. The story is interesting and the animation is so well done that I almost forgot that the characters weren't real. The expressions and body language of the animated characters was spot on.

Never read the comics, so I had no expectations of the movie beyond rave reviews. That being said, this is a very high quality animated adventure movie. There are many fine action scenes. I didn't love the story or the characters. Top notch animation. Very good action. That's as much as I can say. A bit kiddie for me given the subject matter.

A lot of fun with excellently choreographed action scenes, from the pirate attack on the high seas to two cranes battling it out at a port. A little strange to see TinTin as a person, as he has the most "cartoony" face as drawn by Herge, but the other characters are well cone, esp Capt. Haddock. The extras of how Tin Tin was brought to the screen and how Snowy was created are fascinating.

Captain Haddock: I thought you were an optimist. Tintin: You were wrong, weren't you? I'm a realist. Captain Haddock: Ah, it's just another name for a quitter. Tintin: You can call me what you like. Don't you get it? We failed. Captain Haddock: Failed. There are plenty of others willing to call you a failure. A fool. A loser. A hopeless souse. Don't you ever say it of yourself. You send out the wrong signal, that is what people pick up. Don't you understand? You care about something, you fight for it. You hit a wall, you push through it. There's something you need to know about failure, Tintin. You can never let it defeat you.
