I didn't get to try the recipes, but I did browse a bit and some are simple such as a breakfast that I remember requires prehaps only potatoes, eggs, and bacon.

However, if you haven't finished reading the trilogy (since the 2nd part of Mockingjay hasn't been released in movie theatres as I write this), there are spoilers. The recipes are in sections, such as breads and desserts as I recall, and in book order (The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay) within each section, but the title or description of the recipe may give away a special event that happens to the characters. I didn't even necessarily know who a male character and a female character's relationship status necessarily was before a very specific and special cake was mentioned regarding them. (And no, I don't necessarily mean Katniss and Peta or Gale.)

Well, as I'm not going to forage for clover for tea or fry up a squirrel any time soon, this book is more of a novelty than anything. Yes, it has quotes and tips from your sponsor -- but no pictures. However, the mockingjay flatbread crackers were quite good. Sprinkle some sea salt on top and you're good to go.

Great cookbook with lots of fun, creative recipes. If anything, you MUST try the healthy quinoa salad with celery & cranberries. And the sweet orange cake is AMAZING!
