Very technical and informative. Well researched but at times reads like a textbook and is dry. Didn't know Jillian was so knowledgeable... Like a scientist.
This is a diet book that makes the most sense and focuses on being healthy and ridding our bodies of the toxins we are poisoning ourselves with. It is all about eating real food and choosing organic more often. The only criticism I have with it is her exercise suggestions. She says that we should work our butts off at least 5 hours a week and that "easy" exercises won't help you. I would agree with that IF your goal was to be extremely ripped, but for those of us who just want to keep our body weight down without extreme muscles, doing a light/moderate walk 5 times a week is perfect. Ultimately, I would definitely suggest this book to someone who wants to make a life long change to getting healthy.
This is a well researched and informative book. Jillian Michaels is an interesting person with a story and a passion for good nutrition. Overlooking her use of the hackneyed "my bad/our bad" and other coarse language, I found this book very helpful.
Some really good recipes. This book does not take into account that not all of us have unlimited money for groceries. Well written, and easy to follow if you are wealthy.
This book and Body for Life are probably the two best "diet" books I have ever read. This book really makes sense.
I love that Jillian's voice really comes through as you read this book. It is like having a telephone conversation with Jillian herself. At first I found the information a bit overwhelming but then I realized that you can take this one step at a time. Stop eating junk, start incorporating a little organic food.. little changes help. The big eye opener is what is in the food we eat everyday without thinking about it. Enjoy!
Jillian Michaels is THE master at explaining what is important and what isn't in terms of maintaining a healthy weight. This title is very readable and full of practical tips and explanations- This is not another diet book.
