Good book. It's "Princess Diaries" meets "The Iron Fey". The first book is the worst book of the Trylle Trilogy (at 3.5 Stars), but it was still an engaging YA story that made me want to find out what happened next. "Torn" (#2) & "Ascend" (#3) both get a 5 Star rating. I read the eBook version of the series and found the bonus short stories, especially "The Vittra Attacks" gave me a great insight into the supporting characters. A great series for those who enjoy the "thrown into a world they never could have imagined" genre of fantasy.

A fun and engaging read. The story line is interesting and it is easy to get caught up with the characters, but they often seem one dimensional and many of the final plot lines are predictable.

I loved the book. I totally recomend reading it. but to be honmst in the end i was surpried Wendy did that.

Hocking writes engaging stories that pull you in right from the very beginning and leave you wanting more. First in Hocking's Trylle trilogy, Switched begins with Wendy discovering that the reason her mother hates (and tried to kill) her is that she is really a changeling troll switched at birth! It's a fun book with a strong female lead and a love triangle as well as a battle between good and evil with Wendy poised right in the middle ready (maybe) to lead her people into battle.

I liked Wendy, and it's an interesting story. Some of it felt like too much explaining - stuff I think the reader could have picked up on and didn't need spelling out. Also I'm not the biggest Finn fan. He's a bit too strict with his job (aka boring), but it was still a fun book. I look forward to reading the sequel and finding out what happens.

I abs. loved this book. I think I finished this in two days. It was addicting, and I loved the romance. I loved the special, caring, and protective relationship she had with her brother. I love her instresting , and chilling past. I loved the irony. I loved the action. I love the character. Wendy reminds me of myself. After reading who she was I thought I was her - a troll. I loved the made up world she lives in , I just loved everything about it. I can't wait wait to read the second book . Def. a page turner, making me want more. Five stars.

An okay story that might appeal to 12-year-olds. Painfully bland and redundant writing in a juvenile tone; the characters all say "definitely" too much. The concept is familiar (Harry Potter, Chronicles of Narnia, etc.) - the unloved/neglected misfit teenager is swept off to magical world where she is royalty and has supernatural powers. The ending is a real let-down: no satisfaction, it just sets you up for the next book in the trilogy... if you have that kind of time to kill.
