My dad showed me this movie thinking i will like it and i do. This movie is very interesting and good. It leaves you thinking about what was the causes of the bird attacks.

I had originally viewed this classic in university, but I did not remember much. I watched it with my 14 yr old son who dislikes Hitchcock's slow plot build up. For this film, he was was very dissatisfied with the ending. It is interesting to watch the extra feature which shows the technological innovation required to make this film. It's a classic!

There are several themes throughout this film, but the unexplained attacks by "the birds" are the main event. There are many crows in Vancouver and their numbers keep growing...nervous?

This is not one of Hitchcock's better films. It's not very thrilling or chilling....

For its time (1963) this picture was an exceptional feat of movie-making. Not only was it technically a visual masterpiece, but its story was truly frightening and the performances of the entire cast were nothing short of excellent.... The one thing that I wonder about is, why, when the birds made their biggest attack on the downtown of Bodega Bay, none of the characters in the story brought out guns in order to shoot them down? You can't tell me that this was because the town was short on firearms.

I'm going to have to disagree with you, alpaca85. You see Hitchcock's subtle sense of humour was... terrible. He intended Psycho to be a comedy, and as far as I know The Birds was not. Tipi Hedren is good, but know where near as good as Kim Novak in Vertigo or Grace Kelly in Rear Window. When you think about it, the idea of a bunch of birds attacking a town in sort of a very cliche average idea. I'm not saying that 'The Birds' is bad, I'm simple saying that it's not very unique.

I love Hitchcock, and I believe this is one of his best. It takes everything he practiced throughout the years, the macabre sense of humour, the cool blonde, the dislike of eggs and the mother. It all comes together beautifully.

A pretty memorable movie. Hitchcock is a master in his work.
