Summary
Add a SummaryGreat book and somewhat addicting. I wish however that I hadn't read this book with high expectations. I am sure that I'll enjoy the series more and more as I continue on with the rest. Loved that the book had more meat than just a happy-ever-after romance. Loved that it combined my love for UF and romance. Good action and introduction of intriging characters with hilarious names! Even Butch got a tough-guy name! Maybe a clue that he's a part of this... Wrath certainly is an interesting character. His blindness and insecurities make him unique. I wished Ward had given me more with Beth's transition into a vampire. There was a lot of suspense leading up to it and I expected more. I guess since she's half human the change wasn't entirely that drastic. Look forward to the next one.

Add a CommentBook 1... this book Instantly pulls you into a world with strong characters, hot steaming sex scenes! and fast paced, suspenseful action.
And the story was where exactly? It read like a thrown together mish-mash of different stories combined in one. For the simple purpose of name-dropping (to feel revelent) and silly-spelled vampire names (Phury, Rhage... Zsadist). The only one I liked was Vishous and am willing to read his story only on account that he seemded to have more of an interesting one. But as far reading the entire series that's a no.
wrath and beth...good!!
can't wait for Tohrmen's story

Y'know, I can't say I'm a big fan of the romance genre, and certainly not of vampire romance, but Ward has done a good job of making me reconsider my aversion. This isn't like Meyer's crapload of delayed-onset teenage hormones à la Twilight. Ward takes the time to really tell her story. Developed characters, hints of geniune darkness and a solid writing style. Wrath is, for the most part, a believable leading man; Beth, a strong leading woman. Both strain the fesability line a bit, but they're not static and they certainly play well off each other. Ward's ability to balance intensity, romance and comic relief are refreshing. The pacing of the book can sometimes be confusing, but all in all, it is a very nice, refreshing light read. I wouldn't say the sex scenes were too intense. They are explicit, but they certainly don't go into much detail. The sexual tension in the book also didn't take a front-seat role, as I found Ward spent more time developing the history, detail and personality of the Brotherhood and the setting of the world.
A goood book... But kind of over rated. It started off with just 4 copies, and now there are 22!
This is the first book of a 9 book series and the whole series is awesome. Though it very sexually explicit don't want you teenagers reading it.
I really enjoyed this series of books and recommend it to anyone who likes vampire stories where the vampires are good guys. Also, Ward writes a creative story that kept me up reading well into the wee hours of the morning
The first book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood. I have read them all! Well dressed vampires..... A fabulous series of books. Lover Mine is the latest and J.R. Ward does not let me down.
