Add a CommentWas nothing like I was expecting...it was GREAT! Was so worried it was going to be like the EXTREMELY BAD Wahlberg movie. This movie even connected the dots to the original Planet of the Apes movie by showing the manned voyage to Mars and the reason mankind was all but killed off, virus 113. Liked the plot of Franco trying to find a cure for Alzheimers to help his father. Worth the watch!
good movie but the originol movies were better more of a original plot
Me and my family enjoyed this movie. It was better than we were all expecting!
i liked it because tom felton was in the movie !!!! :) !!!!!!!!!
I had low expectations for this movie based on a previous remake with Mark Wahlberg. I was shocked at well made it is. It never bogs down. I was into it all the way through. It's pretty cool how they acknowledge the original film with Charlton Heston....it's a Madhouse!...a MAAADHOUSE!!!! Get yer paws off me you DAMN DIRTY APE! Four stars for this one.
Highly entertaining (more so than Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes remake with Mark Wahlberg) and fun. Swiftly paced with lots of homages to the original film series. What makes the film for me is Andy Serkis' absolutely incredible motion-capture work as Caesar the ape. What Serkis is able to do through his body and facial expressions is the stuff of genius. That a man in a motion-capture suit playing a CGI ape can get you to feel every emotion and take you on a journey is nothing short of brilliant. See this film for Serkis alone.
I thought it was a good movie. The computer animation was pretty cool. I liked it.
I don't understand why anyone would have any negative comments to say about this film . I feel this film and the story was great!
Apparently computer animation has come a long way because this movie is actually tasteful. These apes are really cool.
The NYTimes gave this movie a good review. I don't know what Manola Dargis watched but it certainly wasn't this depressing, unentertaining piece of Hollywood overproduced drivel I suffered through! The CGI effects looked often very fake and the storyline, you gotta be kidding me! So stupid, such a waste of time and money. I assume James Franco and John Lithgow just collected sweet paychecks and perhaps the script looked better on paper but I'm still gonna say it, shame on them! Awful! Skip it!
