Add a Commentit a movie that i like,is a very good movie I like because it has a very interesting story about that time, or aliens real,I think the UFO or aliens are real.,so cool...
A bit of a wierd and silly idea perhaps,.. but GREAT FUN !! ( ..especially if you if you silence your inner Sophisticated Film Critic.)
“Cowboys & Aliens” is a very funny film with a strong concept that is ultimately preposterous in reality. Nineteenth century mid-western rural Americas would probably have been unable to even grasp the idea of beings from another world, let alone deal with their behavior and technology. Yet in this film the cowboys and aliens interact as though the latter are not much different than a hostile group of cattle rustlers or warring Native Americas from a distant county. Nonetheless, with reality suspended as high as the Verrazano Bridge, the film is entertaining and genuinely funny. The film’s concept is essentially good in that in confronts two unlikely sources. Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford make the most of their roles as cow-folk with more artistic license than art; the aliens, as conceived by the special effects people, are a nasty, repulsive, out-for-blood type whose demise would be welcomed by anyone. There’s plenty of action in the script and director Jon Favreau keeps the pace hectic and the visuals exciting. The film is a lot of fun, despite that its producers may have had greater aspirations.
ok but a kind of disappointed with the production cast
It had so much potential to be a good movie, but seemed like one long continuous disastrous montage. Daniel Craig was excellent as the anti-hero of the whole movie and Olivia could have been used a lot more, she just seemed to fade in the background and pop up whenever she was called in for the day. Harrison also seemed very crotchety and cranky like they needed to put him down for a nap. The story wasn't fleshed out at all. No one explained why exactly the aliens why they wanted certain things and what they were utilizing it for. I love big action scenes, but this movie seemed to rely on the bang and not the actually weight of a good story mixed-in.
This was a bad movie....We truly Love Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford...they are both amazing actors....however this was a very long, dull and pointless movie...lots of violence...."Why did the alien want the gold?????"
Is this the first entry into the catalogue of a genre? Maybe. Don't really know. A state of ignorance compounded by a sense that I also don't really care. There are a number of films in related genres, including Billy the Kid and vampires. Or was it Frankenstein? Unlike a great many films made at this point, this one at the least seems to be a thing unto itself, not just a way station on the way to the sequel or to the 'real' film. Odd to note that the real hero is an alien woman. She's the one who in the end takes out the bad guys and saves the world. She has help, of course.
