Meh. The best part was the voiceover in the first three minutes. Vaguely entertaining in a braindead sort of way... It could have been much better, and an iconic character like Conan deserves better. The special feature about Robert E. Howard was better than the movie.

I enjoyed it !! And I found it to be authenticly in the spirit of the "blue collar" literature by Robert E. Howard, on which it is based. Because of this the ploting is 'episodic'. The production values were good, and the acting harkened back to the Saturday Matinee Serial format. To judge this film by modern 'action film' criteria,.. means missing out on its antique originality. And the Director's Commentary is also worthwhile. (P.S. "Kev's PICkS": If you like this genre as much as I do,.. then I recommend seeing Sean Bean in "Black Death", and also "Season of the Witch" with Nocholas Cage. They make for an intresting contrast with each other ! And the waiting list isn't long.) P.P.S...and please DON'T miss seeing "John Carter".

I was not a fan of the magical aspects and animations used in this version of “Conan the Barbarian”. It was very different from the ‘80”s film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, which I prefer.

This remake/reboot/relaunch of the Conan series made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger was simply awful. To be avoided under any circumstances, unless you need a visual aid for a seminar in how not to make a movie.

I really wanted to like this movie because I did love the Arnold original. Sure the plot of this is silly but the action scenes are well done, the special effects fine and all of the actors at least look good. But that's about it. There's no chemistry between the main characters (although the main villain is fun) and Conan himself is basically a jerk. So because you don't care about the characters or what happens to them, interest fades pretty quick.

Watch the original boys. Nothing here to see with special effects from the 1960 era.
