Slow start but great book!

i hate this book its a bad copy of alice in wonderland its just an extremely terrible book also it goes on too slow and it is boring it either has boring parts or wannabe exiting parts i do not reccomend it

I have to admit that I usually don’t care for books about fairies, but I found The Iron King not only very readable but actually enjoyable as well. The author moves her story along at a nice pace, doesn’t indulge in too much teen angst, and keeps a vein of humor running throughout the story. She nicely wrapped up major plot points in this book, while still leaving the door wide open for the next story. I have been ensnared by this fey series and will be looking for the second book soon.

Ok, so I've been reading many similar themed books lately and I gotta say this one was poorly written. Lots of stuff going on all the time but I never felt any emotion towards the characters. The author just didn't go deep enough into how they were feeling and why they did the things they did. With that being said I think the story is amazing and I will certainly continue with the series. I've already begun the second book and the writing style has changed for the better. Hopefully they just keep getting better cause the potential romance in this series is to die for.

This rating and comment applies to the whole series, since I read it rather quickly. I would really give this series 4.9 stars, but I had to round it up to 5. Of course, judging by that, you can tell that I found this series amazing. The best I've read in months. The romance picks up quickly enough, and I noticed that for at least the first three books, there's some form of excitement in every single chapter, be it a fight, some tension/suspense... it's easy to get hooked. And what Kagawa has managed to do that most authors can't is keep the same quality throughout the series. The ending of the series could perhaps have been slightly better, but it's satisfying enough, especially compared to the way many other authors end their serieses. Of course, there were a few flaws. The love triangle wasn't quite up to standard, I found. As Puck himself said in the third book, he never really had a chance. He was a well-done character, but I feel like he was away a lot, and didn't try hard enough, and the romantic aspect was almost completely dominated by Ash. I would have liked to see Kagawa do more with this love triangle. And the second small issue was that the twists were rather obvious. I could see most of them from at least half a book away. The books weren't completely predictable, but any foreshadowing was more like a half-hidden billboard. All the same, I would definitely recommend this series, and I'll be sure to watch eagerly for anything else Kagawa writes.
