Add a CommentNot one of Robb's best books. I am a little disappointed in this book.
The "In Death" series takes place in the mid 21st Century. Futuristic aspects but not really science fiction.
As always, J.D. Robb provides a satisfying futuristic detective story which includes a healthy adult love relationship between the main character and the man in her life. I find this series refreshing for this alone. Add in the humour, unique characterizations, and à dose of good sex, and you have a winning formula. A great weekend read when you don`t want to think too hard about the worlds problems.
There was no particular tension in this book – definitely one more of the formula. We know all these characters, and they behave relatively predictably. Webster from IA does find a girlfriend – the chief of police from Olympia. Mavis does a cameo with Baby Bella
Once again J.D.Robb has another hit on her hands. This series is one that i have been hooked on since the beginning.
I hope JD Robb will keep this series going for a long long long time, I have never enjoyed a series so much as those. I have every one of the death series even the novellas. My husband used to chuckle when I would burst out laughing due to some the commens from Eve Dallas to her husband or partner such as Bite Me. I also enjoy her other books as Nora Roberts. This is one talented writter.
Excellent, as always. J. D. Robb's characterizations never miss a beat - her characters are real, they have their moods, they grow and change - life is not static, time passes - her books are not set in a time warp where nothing changes and characters never change because time never passes - I hope she continues writing these stories for a long, long time. Also worth noting, both my husband and I love the books - this isn't 'fluff' for the ladies, Eve Dallas is a kick-ass cop who just happens to be married to "prince charming" but the 'crime' always takes precedence to the romance (no matter whose romance)
I really enjoyed following Eve's thinking process as she went after the bad cop.
This one makes 31? 32? in the series. But Nora Roberts (a.k.a JD Robb) just keeps pumping them out. Sometimes the quality of the series is hit and miss but Treachery in Death was excellent. Eve and Roarke have spats and fights but her overall trust and comfort with their relatinship is increasing and is wonderful to see. The premise/plot was totally believable and the process was fun. Bravo! Another great one!!
Robb's 33rd novel with New York homicide detective Eve Dallas.
