Despite a stellar cast this is a very mediocre movie about a New York family. Dad is having an affair at work (ho hum). Mom is taking care of her ailing, grouchy father (ho hum). The one, bright shining star of this film is Ezra Miller who plays a well-adjusted gay teen. He is the only reason to see this movie.

Wonderful movie. Very true to life in every aspect. All the actors in this were totally great. I am sure everyone in today's society can relate to some part of this story. One of the best movies I have seen in ages.

Since when did this gross type of writing that the main character does become so acceptable. And abetting a teenage son's homosexual activity, for that matter! Skip this one - not even good entertainment.

Wow, after watching this movie had a feeling it was based on a true life story and it was the / a movie directors life situation. Are some movie directors / writers / producers THAT BRAINDEAD for ideas!? Come on guys, ya ya ya, same ol same ol, life is tragic at times. This is NOT entertainment so PLEASE DO NOT promote it unless you need to get a life. For the price of a movie ticket / blue-ray disk / dvd-disk let them do a lot more value-for-the-money than this. Sad these professional actors stoop to this level of work.

Lovely little movie: well put together, well scripted, good acting. No great messages or social commentary, but updated story for today about imperfect people living imperfect lives and even though they do some dumb things they are still committed to each other. The beauty of it is that its done so nicely that you come away feeling good and I can recommend this for 17 through seniors (unless you're a religious zealot, hate gays, or are seriously judgemental about people making mistakes). Enjoy!

Great movie! This movie had good acting and the story line was totally believable. It deals with the realities of life in a "normal" American family household. It doesn't sugar coat a family dealing with an elderly parent who is ill and can no longer take care of himself. It doesn't sugar coat the stresses associated with that situation and dealing with kids, jobs and lack of intimacy in the bedroom.
