Add a Commentgreat sifi movie
This is really good!!!! I loved the series, Firefly,(what little there was of it.) and the movie, Serenity, hits it out of the park with great acting, great characters and great action. Of course the series was ended too soon because of the expense of maintaining the quality of the program. The movie does a good job of filling in important background and tying up some loose ends. I recommend!!
River Tam FTW <3
I recommend seeing the TV series first, because there are things that are funny if you have. Love this movie. Hilarious, scary, heartfelt, beautiful, gory. We knew Joss was a genius before the rest of the world did.
I saw "Firefly" first and liked the shorter TV episodes better than the last-chance-to-explain-everything movie. The movie has more special effects and action sequences, but it was the TV show that made me love these characters. They're the most human characters in space, I'm constantly amazed that they're so... different from each other, so normal, so not-stereotypes. Watch it (either, both!) if you like good science fiction.
I actually saw this movie first before even knowing that the series, Firefly, existed. I loved the movie, and then discovered the series. It really doesn't matter what you see first. The attraction is the wonderful stories and the wonderful characters. It's among the best, fun science fiction there is.
I never saw the television series "Firefly" but i liked this movie a whole lot. There's no way in the world you couldn't like the character River or the operative sent to get her. Plus Gina Torres. Great action, good story, good sound effects and River's fighting skills, makes this a good movie for your HomeTheater. The visual effects were cool. I will give this movie 5 stars!!! for a very cool bad guy (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and a kick booty no matter where she's goes, River.(Summer Glau). Popcorn, icecream, chips&coke.
Great science fiction horror movie with great special effects. A++ DVD
I agree with the previous comments . I would highly recommend seeing the "Firefly" series (T.V.) FIRST ,.. and then caping it off with the film "Serenity". (... both are available from the N.Y.P.L.) I sincerely wish they'll be more films and/or T.V. episodes made about this "Verse" ?
Major motion picture based on my favorite sci-fi tv series ever. Great characters. Great setting. Great acting. Both funny and touching while being exciting and surprising. Immerses you in its own unique sci-fi mythology. Fillion has never been as good before or since this series. Watching the series and finishing with the motion picture is sci-fi bliss. you will wish the series never got cancelled.
