Alyxandra Harvey interview: 'Haunting Violet'
Alyxandra Harvey discusses her new book, 'Haunting Violet', a tale of dark romance for teens. Alyxandra Harvey is the author of the Drake Chronicles, YA fiction in the paranormal romance genre. More about 'Haunting Violet': Violet Willoughby doesn't believe in ghosts, especially since her mother has worked as a fraudulent medium for a decade. Violet has taken part in enough of her mother's tricks to feel more than a little jaded about anyhting supernatural. The ghosts, however, believe in Violet and she's been seeing them everywhere. One ghost in particular needs Violet to use her emerging gift to solve her murder . . . and prevent the ghost's twin sister from suffering the same fate.

Add a CommentI love the author. Her books always seen to be my most favorite ones ever.
Hands down best book i have ever read!!! Colin and Violet were some of the best characters i have ever read about! A great and captivating read!
This is a must see haunting book about a 16 yr old named Violet Willoughby.
I really LOVED this book because the author really knew how to write this book!! :)
An interesting book but there are too many details in the beginning of the book that made it a bore at first.
The premise is so promising and the tagline on the cover of the book (Violet doesn't believe in ghosts...but they believe in her.) is so intriguing. But the actual story doesn't deliver on the promise. The writing is mediocre and amateurish. Don't waste your time on this one.
This book had all what I love in a good book mystery, romance, horror and an inspiring character. I loved the relationship between Colin and Violet because they were always so loyal to eachother and would trust eachother with their life. I also enjoyed the many unexpected twists in the novel such as Violet meeting her father and him rejecting her and my favourite, the fact that Violet had the gift not her mother. I know this was an excellent book as it had me attached to it and the author made you feel like you were there, as if you were Violet. As well a good mystery always has the murder as someone you least expect.
i liked this book, it was a good pace and had a creative plot, and characters
I liked this book, I found the beginning to be a little slow. But I really enjoyed the ending.
I think this this book was by far the best red maple book. It's more my taste. The story is really interesting. The whole "being able to see the dead" thing is pretty cool. I really like the end of this book. It leaves us to wonder about what happens, but we know that Voilet is going to be safe with Colin. I think there should be a sequel.
