Add a CommentA very intense and sad read. But also a reminder that even with abuse and terrible things that come into every individuals life there can be a good outcome if you make one. I really enjoyed the author's reflections of recent understand. My favorite is of the acorn within the first couple of chapters. This is a haunting true story, don't read it if you aren't prepared.
Read this in one sitting as many others have. This book was dark and depressing to begin with and i felt that I had to continue to find some happiness throughout.
This is a book I will never forget. Very haunting and sometimes very difficult to read. It's not well written but that didn't seem to matter much. Jaycee's captors are very sick and evil people.
I enjoyed this book when I read it when it came out I am now reading it again. I have followed this story ever since she came back home in 2009
Heartwrenching novel that tells of immense courage to survive from a young woman. Extremely difficult to read. I'm glad I finished the book because it shows that there are more good than bad in the world.
A must read for every parent. A wonderful story of survival with a great ending. God bless this family.
Extremely disturbing. Graphic. What she endured is absolutely horrifying and just plain evil. Sad story with a happy ending.
Difficult to read the horror she suffered but heartwrenching story of survival. Unbelievable what humans can do to each other.
Read this book in one sitting. What a book!!! Sad but factual. Thanks Jaycee for revealing all!
A really good read by a young woman who has never written. Compelling and sad, I could not put the book down...finished in 5 hours.
