is this the first book???
Lacking.
This book was a little bit dissapointing, and I didn't really like it that much. Kylie is a somewhat likeable character who gets a little annoying sometimes, but often has petty problems that could easily be solved with some common sense. Her friends are a nice touch, but also seem ridiculous at some points. Other characters such as the camp counselor, seem like a teenager placed into a adult's body, with out of place characteristics. The love triangle between the two boys was a little ridiculous, with no real connection between them all. At some point in the book, I just stopped paying atttention, as the hints dropped were not exciting nor intresting.
not bad the book was the story line was new and different all at once. kylie is one strong and independent character even though she is unsure of her nature the journey is going to be good.
First off, the main character (Kylie) was pretty damn annoying! There are only so many times I can handle someone repeating the word *freaks*. I mean, you just wanted to grab Kylie and tell her to get off her high horse and quit being so judgemental and whiny. "Why is my life so terrible?" was pretty much all she ever said...but I digress...the book was okay, the plot was okay, romance okay. Nothing special, but interesting enough that I read it all and will probably check out the sequel too.
Just....average. I thought the petty conflicts in the story were just, well, petty. The quality of writting not up to par, and yet another main character constantly repeating herself in her thoughts. I do like the turn fo the norm in the fact where the book was actually on a character that didn't beleive at the first mention that she was(or in other cases her friend was) a supernatural. Made it more real. The romance lacking for the main reason of a boring main character. Not really recommended, although I did get a good chunk out of the book, I didn't finish it.
I've just finnished this book but I have to say it wasn't my best book I ever read. I didn't like the main charater Kylie she was annoying to me because she just thought that others were freaks and she just thinks that she's the perfect one and I thought that was dumb. so I'm not going to read Awake at Dawn because I'm thinking I'm finding books that are a little better then this one.
I totally and completely agree with user cptcook. Amazing book! I loved it it so much i had to go out and get the second book Awake at Dawn right away. I am dying to know what happens :) great chararacters, great story. I will totally recommend it. It had me hook from page one. Great book! :)
Couldn't put the book down! Started reading after dinner and the next thing I knew it was 3am. Very interesting take on the supernatural ideas. Most definitely worth the read. Can't wait for book 2 (Awake At Dawn)!
