Add a CommentThere are two selections to this title, one with both the 1978 and 2010 remake DVDs. Both featured extreme violence upon a beautiful young woman who was alone in a cabin out in the boondocks to write. She managed to survived unimaginable physical attacks by a bunch of local low lifes and returned to dish extreme vengeance on each of the attackers. Main difference between the two versions is that the remake exhibited less nudity but with more creative methods in the woman's revenge, i.e. more blood and gore. Also both showed about 45 minutes of continuous attacks on the woman but only ~20 minutes on the men. Would be more watchable if it were the other way around ...
There's a quote on the front cover of the dvd jacket from a N.Y. Post film critic that says: "If you can handle it, see it." I almost couldn't. Watching those vile, lecherous slobs for the first half or so turned my stomach. The remainder is vindicating, if that's at all possible. This remake is ten times more graphic and violent than the '78 low budget original, adding a cop into the mix, to boot.
Hugely controversial film for '78; banned, boycotted, even named by Roger Ebert as the worst movie ever made. It is low budget. It is pretty graphic for its time. Exploitative. Gratuitous. I guess I second Basileus' sentiments below in that: a) it's not the worst movie I've ever seen; & b) the acting really isn't that bad (especially Camille Keaton, who married the filmmaker after its release, btw). It tells a story. A very ugly story of real life monsters in this world. And I don't understand why some feminists should potentially hate the film when justice is effectively served... (albeit, "eye for an eye" justice)
This movie was not done well at all. This movie was terrible “Dumb, boring and stupid.” Waste of time waste and of Electrical power.
this movie is a MESS. this movie is nothing but rape, run, rape, run, rape, then run again, wait then kill. not worth three stars
Not as good as the original.

this movie makes me hate white trash even more woman never go away by your self also meet up with someone dont be dumb
Very difficult to watch, especially the graphic scenes, but overall, it's a great movie. The revengeful scenes were the best. Those disgusting guys definitely deserved the punishment.
