I'm not a zombie person, but I did find this show engaging. Being an ensemble cast, there was something about it that reminded me of "Lost". I how they kill off the guy who looks like Steve Guttenberg... why? Because he reminds me of Steve Guttenberg.

this is the best zombie show in the world

If you love zombies the Walking Dead is the show for you. The show starts off with Rick Grimes waking up in a zombie apocalypse with no memory of how it came to be. He goes on a mission to figure out what happened and to find his family. The characters in the Walking Dead are very well made up and get you emotionally attached to them. I quickly found my favorite character that made me hoping that he would survive as the show went on. When a character does end up dying I found myself to be emotionally affected by it and feeling sad that I wouldn't be able to seem them anymore. The plot itself I found to be very well executed and made up. They are constantly on the move trying to survive in the zombie apocalypse world. Zombies are not just the only problem they face, they are constantly on the search for food and trying to avoid potential bandits that want to kill them. Although I did find the plot to sometimes be a bit slow. Every episode starts off with high intensity action and then it dies down. Then towards the end you are left off on a cliff hanger that makes you want to watch the next episode. The easy to follow nail biting plot, great characters and zombies makes the Walking Dead a great television show to watch if you are interested in zombies. I give the Walking Dead season 1 a 8/10. I also recommend you continue to watch the Walking Dead as it only gets better as time goes on.

For your own good, do not watch this television series. You will not stop. It is incredibly addictive and the only way to watch it is all episodes straight. I watched the first season, 6 episodes, in 2 nights. Absolutely incredible. It's not even about the zombies, it's about the struggle to survive amongst the living. That is the true wonder of this series. I give it a 1 so you won't rent it!

If you like zombie movies you'll like this show. It's basically a really extended zombie movie. I can see why some people get bored with it, as it can be slow in some parts. I'm watching season two right now and I think it's much better...but have a hard time seeing how this show is going to last long term. There's only so much you can do with a zombie plot...

its too bad its only 6 episodes it could be longer. The gore is intense BUT IT MAKES THE HORROR DRAMA AND ACTION WAY BETTER!!!!. you'll grow fond of some characters but resent others.

Not my cup of tea. The best I can say about it is that it has a slight feel of the graphic novel, to bad there isn't more of that atmospheric touch. The characters I didn't care about, nor the actors, though the lead guy and his best friend dude are both hot. I stopped watching after the first 3 episodes. Once you've seen brains splattering from either getting shot, beaten to a pulp or impaled, over and over, dark blood oozing, flesh being eaten including the innards of a horse, and healthy humans caught in seemingly insurmountable situations that they escape from ad nauseum, you've seen it a million times.

Season 1 of AMC’s The Walking Dead, based on the series of graphic novels of the same name by Robert Kirkman, follows the story of Sheriff’s Deputy Rick Grimes awaking from a coma into a post apocalyptic world overrun by zombies. Rick, at first in disbelief of the entire situation, must pull himself together in order to find his family, and most of all, to survive. The suspense and excitement generated from the plot, character’s, and superb writing make watching this show an outstanding experience.

The six episode season does an excellent job right off the bat of drawing the viewer in and getting them hooked on the show. No sooner than the first episode does the zombie killing commence, giving a taste of the action that can be expected throughout the season. Also, a lot of detail is put into the appearance of the zombies, making the post-apocalyptic world much more realistic and creating the elements of fear and suspense each time there is a zombie scene.

The show includes a wide variety of characters. From Rick, who’s always looking to do what’s right, to hothead brothers Meryl and Daryl, the diversity in the types of characters makes it interesting to see how each reacts to their surroundings in this catastrophic world. The actors were very well casted for these characters as well. Not only are they able to make their role believable, they also depict their comic book counterparts quite well. Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes does an excellent job portraying the Sheriff’s deputy and capturing the character’s fear and confusion in the early episodes of the series. Lincoln manages this all while masking his British accent, making his performance that much more impressive. Overall, the acting adds to the realism of the show and makes the zombie-infested world believable.

I would recommend this season to anyone, especially those with a love for survival stories and specifically, zombies. The action and suspense will keep you more than interested during this six episode season and make you want to keep watching. Overall, this thrilling season of The Walking Dead deserves nothing less than 10/10, and makes the following seasons a must-watch!

As a series thus far, despite all of the stupid things that some of the characters do to put themselves in harms way, I still look forward to watching each new episode.
This is my only suspense/drama fix.

Glenn: Nice moves there, Clint Eastwood. You're the new sheriff come riding in to clean up the town?
Rick Grimes: Wasn't my intention.
Glenn: Yeah, whatever. Yeehah. You're still a dumb a**.
