I LOVED THIS BOOK. It's an outstanding read, deffinetly 5 star. It makes me think about the environment a lot and its amazing how hiaasen is able to fit a real global problem into a fictional children's book. I HIGHLY recommend this book, its AMAZING AS FOR THE MOVIE TOO.
Haven't read it yet but looks great!!!!!!!!!<3
Read this book in fourth grade, then watched the movie in sixth grade, and read the book again in seventh grade. Needless to say, I was pretty hooked onto this book. Hoot is cleverly written out.
Must read!
This book was the first to get me hooked on wildlife. Then I started reading other Carl Hiaasen's books. Carl Hiaasen showed how age doesn't matter; it's the determination for an impossible-mission that gets you places.
this is such a good book! everything is amazing about it but some of the bad language is unnesisary
hoot is an excellent story about a guy named roy eberhart who tries to save burowing owls from mother paulas pancake house. Will he do so or will mother paulas pancake inc ruin the owls.Roy also is being bullied by dana matherson. Will he make it out of there alive or mot ?Read the book to find out!
A cute mystery story - but I wouldn't have listed the ages as "10 & up". I think there is a bit too much unsavoury language for kids that young. I purchased these for my turning-10 neice's birthday, but I'll be returning them to Chapters after reading the library's copies for myself. I'm copying this note to Hiaasen's Flush also as I felt the same about the age range for that one.
I haven't read it yet, but it seems interesting, isn't it?
