Mo Willems is a writer that truly gets it. My kids love his stories. My daughter is infatuated with this particular book. She has even taken it upon herself to write her own book featuring Gerald and Piggie. She's just a beginning reader, but this book really got her going. We really crack up when Piggie gets close and looks us in the face.

It's "There is a Monster at the End of This Book" for the 21st century... except way better. Mo Willemson has his finger on both buttons-- books that early readers love and books that parents will grin over too.

Very cute. I didn't laugh out loud as I have done in previous E&P books.

Awesome book! My daughter can't stop reading it. Such a rewarding read for a beginning reader.

This book had my son laughing so hard! He really could understand that they were talking to him through the book! It teaches the child that though the characters are telling a story, it is up to the reader to read the story to make the characters come alive! He had a blast re-reading this one over and over. Of course I had to do the voices.

A great book to read with two people each taking on one character! What would Piggie sound like? Give it a try, and when you get to the end, go back to the beginning and start again!
