Add a CommentGood book. It shows that to get to the top, sometimes you have to get to the bottom first. I think it is great for teens and adults, but it isn't my favourite book.
One of the best books I've ever read!
This book was incredible! I suffer from depression and the main character in this book does too. He spends five days in a psych ward and it helps him immensely. Ned Vizzini paints an accurate picture of what it is like to live with depression. It is inspiring
I liked this book alot. I found this an easy read even tough it was fifty chapters. I found it better than the movie. I saw the movie first ( which I shouldn't have) and It was ok but i wasn't to crazy about it. I found the book more descriptive and instersting. Most of the times I like reading a book first before seeing a movie , but sometimes I like seeing the movie before so you can picture how the character looks like already. I think they picked excellent characters to play each part espeically Craig. I would've liked If Bobby was a real main character in the book , but he wasn't. He was in the movie so it can go either way. I like the way he writes and I will def. read more of his books in the future. Good Job Ned Vizzini ! Five Stars. P.S It id help alot that he was in a mental health hostipal so he had alot of feel of how people act in there.
Serious but funny!
hmmmm, yah. I don't know what book the people below me read but this book wasn't even remotely funny. You can see where Vizzini was attempting humor but didn't quite make it. Maybe if you have a dry sense of humor?
Hilarious, funny story that teaches you how memorable life is and the people you may never expect could be the wisest you'll ever meet.
This book was one of the best books i have ever read, and that's saying something, because i read. A LOT. i feel like this book was written for me. it was SO. SO. SO. spectacular. i finished it in 2 days and i never put it down. READ THIS BOOK!!
This book was ridiculously to my taste. And I can be extremely selective when I want to be. I found out about it through the movie and I thought it to be a very insperational film. So of course, when I got my hands on the book, I was a little nervous about what I was about to read. (Would I like it? Would I hate the movie when I was finished? What if I ended up hating the book!? WHY DO I QUESTION EVERYTHING SO MUCH!?) Of course, none of the latter happened. The book contained just the right amount of humour, I could relate to so many of its aspects, and I found myself cheering for Craig all the way to the last page. Seriously. My mom came in to my room to tell me to be quiet because, well, it was late. And she was trying to sleep...
Honest, witty, relatable. I really enjoyed the story and the movie adaption is excellent as well.
