It is true that the front cover may be a bit misleading for this story. But wow, what an amazingly light yet profound book. There were so many moments where I was inspired and touched by Deb Caletti's writing. There was so much insight into love and relationships and the meaning of life. Despite this, the novel was still hilarious, and the characters were so real. beautiful book, one of her best.

Picture on book cover seems misleading. ;P But the book is great! (Definitely not the typical teen romance.) Good insights from various characters on what defines/makes a good relationship. And learning from mistakes and how to be conscious of oneself when finding or going into a relationship.

Interesting format--First person story interspersed with thoughts about relationships written by other characters in the story.

Good book about relationships--male/female, parent/child, sisters.

"sometimes you think you've found love, when it's really just one of those objects that are shiny in a certain light- a trophy, say, or a ring, or a diamond, even. Glass shards, maybe. You've got to be careful, you do. The shine can blind you. The edges can cut you in ways you never imagined. It is up to you to allow that or not. You are the protector of yourself."
