Add a CommentI loved this book I liked the whole fairy dust thing!!!!
funny plot line
I grabbed this book up before it got it's Forest of Reading nomination - and while I loved the White Pine winner, Dust City could have just as easily taken the prize in my books. The world of fairy tales gets dark and gritty when we hear about Henry's side of the story as the son of The Big Bad Wolf. Henry wants answers, and to get them he ends up fighting his way through a criminal organization and a corrupted corporation dealing fairy dust (yep - fairy tales now come with drugs!). A bit more of a challenging read, definitely for the older end of the YA spectrum, but a really enjoyable blend of fairy tale, mystery and darkness.
The BIG BAD WOLF!!!
I loved the book but i also love all books related to fairytales or fantasy.
When I first read the plot summary of the book I thought for sure it would be the best. However, I felt that it didn't fill my expectations fully. I was a huge fan of the writers clever connections to fairy tale characters. I would have liked the novel better if the book didn't have the "bad dust" made of grined fairy bones even though it was a uniqe twist to it I still would have liked it to be made of something else. I felt that the novel was very well writen and I was never bored while reading it. I recomend it to any one who loves fanisty books or mystery novels.
This book was very unusual from other books I have read. This may have been the first book I have read that is like this. It was unusual but fascinating. I recommend this book for readers who don't mind reading about fairy tales that have been a bit altered.
Dust City was a bit unusual book. I enjoyed it a lot but I think that it could've been better. I think it was a bit confusing a lot of times and the author could've made it a bit more interesting. Anyway Dust City was a good book.
In my opinion i didn't like dust city that much maybe because I was reading a better book in comparison. I may have not liked but nonetheless it's still not bad. In the book I had a lot of questions like: how did faelyn (i think that's how you spell it) join nimbus and so on.
"Dust City" was a good and exciting book. I really liked how the author, Robert Paul Weston changed the whole story of the Big Bad Wolf and created an original story of the whole big tale. This book reminds me of the movie "HoodWinked". It shows the similar story, that a wolf was not the culprit of a crime scene. Dust City had the wolf as the culprit, but then the book reveals how the "Big" and "Bad" wolf was somehow forced to kill Red Riding Hood and her Granny. I liked how there were many twists in the book and I really liked how the author included a concept of Fairy Dust, and how the main character Henry Whelp, son of Big Bad Wolf, sets off to stop the misuse of fairy dust creations. I really liked this book in all and I recommend this to everyone who likes mysteries and adventures.
