Add a CommentI'm constantly irritated by people touting one vampire franchise over another as being so much better than another. The Vampire Diaries, Twilight, and True Blood are the same thing wrapped in different packages; love triangles, drama, and poor/lack of plot. Granted that Twilight is probably the worse of the franchises in terms of characterization and plot, but still. Vampire Diaries still panders to the same demographic; teenagers. Meaning while there's some semblance of a "main plot" (i.e. Elena looks like Stefan and Damon's creator and that's weird) the relationship issues take the front. People who like romance/drama tv shows may like this. If you're a jaded individual who has lost faith in the vampire franchise, you're probably going to be irritated after you watch this. Needless to say, I'm not going to seek out season 2 to see if it "gets better."
diz sho iz crazi wit 4bidin luv n drama n alota magic n twiztz n turnz if u lik dat sort of thang..... i giv diz show 7****** n mor.....lol more magic in season 4.............4 u 2 kn............
i love this show and the book is great
this is just great! all you want in a show is already complete in TVD. watching this was such a pleasure!!! romance, violence, comedy, suspense complete in one show. what else will you look for? didnt regret wtching it.
VD is a guilty pleasure. It's got a great story line and the cast is exceptional. They're 100 times more talented than the 'Twilight' twerps. Somerhalder and Wesley are so charismatic as the brothers, I'm thinking of changing my surname to Salvatore. One last thing: there are a few musical gems in the soundtrack, which is worth checking out.
It was great from start to finish. I like how each epsiode left you wanting more and each episode added to the ride i never wanted to get off of. I loved it and I would watch them all the time if i could lol. Great Series! 100 percent would watch this again! I can't decide who I like more Damon or Stefan both are sexy! I also have to say that there is a perfect cast in this series. All three characters that are choosen to play Elena, Stefan and Damon go perfectly together. LOVED It! :)
It takes forever to get :( They need more copies.

Favorite tv show! I've watched every episode twice! Im only taking this out to re-watch it :) Nina Dobrev is incredible, Paul Wesley is such a great actor, but unfortunately barely gets any credit from the audience. His emotional scenes are by far his best. The crying, the expressions on his face, are perfect, and so is his relationship with Elena :) Of course, Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) and his one-liners are priceless! He makes me laugh every episode. Watch it!! It's a great show. SO MUCH BETTER than the other Vampire things going on *cough* twilight *cough*. Haha definitely my favorite tv show! The music they play is awesome! My friends who don't even watch the show ask me if the new episode had some good songs in it, and I always say yes. Added bonus! The cast is beautiful and flawless, and they always choose the best guest stars! Season 1 is my favorite out of the three. Enjoy! :)
Okay. I had really just checked out this show as a rainy-day boredom thing, and turned it off after a couple of episodes because it was full of characters that ranged from "could care less" to "kill them now, please". But then I got bored again, and turned it back on, albeit mostly fast-forwarding through scenes until Ian Somerhalder came on. He is, as promised, the bright (and very evil) light in this show. We always love the bad boys. And then... somewhere on the second or third disk, the show suddenly got awesome. I don't know if it's because of the instant feedback the show's creators have access to in this day and twitter age, but not only did Somerhalder get a lot more scenes, the characters who annoyed me the most were killed off! And the other characters got a lot less annoying, the plot went from predictable to engrossing, and all the acting got better. The guest actors they got for the later episodes were outstanding (David Anders, anyone?) and the cliffhanger at the end of the season made me a fan. That's right, i am now a fan.
