Summary
Add a Summarythis is about a man who learns a lesson about the true meanings of chirstmas from the past of christmas!!!!
This is supposed to be a 'magical' retelling of Charles Dickens' beloved tale- Disney's A Christmas Carol ; a high-flying , heartwarming adventure for the whole family. The animation brings to life the characters with even the fine nuances of physical performance and the story line is fairly true to the common tale. There are a few little twists and omissions which are consistent in most of the previous films ; but they don't take anything from the film , while the new little bits are refreshing. All this being said ; it really is just another take on and venue for the good old " Christmas Carol".
Notices
Add a NoticeViolence: Extrememe amount of violence , even for an animated film , but especially a Disney production. Parental Guidance is an appropriate rating and I hope adults will consider this before they allow young children to be terrified and perhaps suffer from life long nightmares . ( I'm not kidding! )

I just didn't like this version at all.
lovable story
This was horrid. Lots of better versions. In fact, I can't, offhand, think of a worse one. It's rather strange to compare this version with "The Muppet Christmas Carol." Superficially, this Disney version retains more of the original dialogue. This version adds material, but the Muppet version adds material and even characters. Yet somehow the Muppet version remains true to the spirit of the original, and this one definitely does not. The scenes and staging added to take advantage of 3D effects are annoying and distracting. The "backstory" adds nothing, particularly since this version has removed or modified the original backstory, particularly with regard to the sister, Fanny. The result is to make Scrooge a caricature, and we can't really care whether a caricature reforms or not.
great picture motion and great story but I fell asleep watching it kind of boring:(
Definitely a "PG" rated movie. Don't know if I'll ever watch it again ; even with the excellent animation . I found it a little creepy at times.
Fantastic picture quality and sound. immersive movie experience.Kids were scared.
It was a solid movie. Darker than most versions. Great graphics and finally a slight spin on the traditional ending. My 5 year old was too scared to watch after the 1st 15minutes. LOL Yes, It's dark!
Good - A Christmas Carol (2009) [Animated/CGI] 96min. What could one say about the 14th post-silent era film adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol that hasn't been said. Though the story remains the same, the presentation varies. In this case, Robert Zemeckis uses 3D CGI animation to bring Scrooge and the ghosts of Christmas to life. The visuals are breathtaking and the pacing of the film moves along quite nicely. What I noted is how close Jim Carey's voice impersonation of Scrooge sounded so much like Alister Sim's Scrooge of the 1951 version. Lastly, though the animation is top-notch, the eyes of the characters, at times, seem void distorting one's view of the magic that was created on a computer screen. Overall, a good film for the Christmas season.
I didn't really care for this movie myself. Alot of the parts were way to dragged out, that it got boring to watch. Good animation though if you like to watch that. :)
