“The Rocky Horror Picture Show” is a memorable and classic movie-musical that follows the misadventures of Brad and Janet, a newly engaged couple. Brad and Janet find themselves having to approach an eerie castle in the middle of nowhere for help when their car breaks down. At the castle they find an interesting cast of characters, including Magenta (a domestic), Riff Raff (a handyman), Columbia (a groupie), and Doctor Franknfurter (a scientist). Franknfurter invites Brad and Janet to bear witness to the creation of Rocky, a blonde man-with-a-tan, but as you can imagine everything soon dissolves into chaos. “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” is a horror/comedy musical movie, and is based off of the 1970’s stage musical, The Rocky Horror Show. This musical also claims a high spot on the author of this review’s favourite musicals of all time list. It is a funny and witty movie, filled with memorable songs and dances. The characters are all interesting and unique, and the setting helps set the mood from the get-go. The plot is quick and interesting, and there are no ‘slow moments’. It is a wonderful and brilliant movie that is definitely worth anyone’s time. The author of this review recommends “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” for anyone fourteen and over. It has a very sexual nature to it, and many of the characters wear provocative costumes throughout the course of the film. There are various points of nudity, but there are only a few swears throughout the entire film (you can count the number of them on one hand). There are no real ‘hidden meanings’ within Rocky Horror, as it is a musical made in good fun. It is a fun movie to watch with your friends over a bowl of popcorn. “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” is an incredibly entertaining movie musical, and is highly recommended by the author of this review.

I don't get all the hubbub. It's a musical. A few catchy tunes and a lot of sexual innuendo and corsets. BAD acting. Weird, but not all that weird by todays standards. Overrated.

Oh my Gosh...this is one of the best movies ever!! :) It's completely insane, it has no morals whatever, and it's filled with catchy songs and lovable characters! I LOVE The Rocky Horror Picture Show!! :D

I was at the midnight show in the Village a number of years ago. It's quite an experience. A movie and "a happening" that will live on and on!

Funny movie, but very odd. I would definitly watch it again.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show was the Saint John Free Public Library's Thurs. Oct. 4/12 Scary Movie pick, preceded by: The Stranglers - "Waltz in Black"; Oingo Boingo - "Dead Man's Party"; "The Time Warp" from THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW; "This Is Halloween" from THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS; David Lindley - "Werewolves of London". Further questions for discussion: - Now that society has become more tolerant (or at least less likely to be shocked) by the kinkiness on display in ROCKY HORROR, how does the movie seem to you? Still transgressive, or a quaint reminder of another era? - Meat Loaf's appearance aside, what's your take on the soundtrack? This material seems a perfect fit for GLEE, and they did it back in Season 2; what did you think of what they made of it? - For those who have seen it performed live, how did it compare to the movie? Which do you feel is a better venue for the material: stage or screen?

I love this film. I could not compare it to anything I have already seen, it is like a firework of craziness, and I find it absolutely hilarious.

Sexual Content: The whole concept of the movie is sexual. I don't recommend this for tweens, but early teens if they are mature and know about homosexuality.

Columbia: You're very fortunate to be invited up to Frank's laboratory. Some people would give their right arm for the priviledge. Brad: People like you, maybe? Columbia: HA! I've seen it!
