"Anna Latham didn't know how complicated life could be until she became a werewolf. And until she was mated to Charles Cornick, the son--and enforcer--of Bran, the leader of the North American werewolves, she didn't know how dangerous it could be, either... Anna and Charles have just been enlisted to attend a summit to present Bran's controversial proposition: that the wolves should finally reveal themselves to humans. But the most feared Alpha in Europe is dead set against the plan--and it seems like someone else might be, too. When Anna is attacked by vampires using pack magic, the kind of power only werewolves should be able to draw on, Charles and Anna must combine their talents to hunt down whoever is behind it all--or risk losing everything..."--p. The lack of sex is part of the reason I love this author. The romance is there, more actually in this series between Charles and Anna, but the sexual details are just hinted at. I like using my imagination! Written in Patricia Briggs usual great style, where the story line follows and the character development is meaningful.

I got a little bored with this one. It seems to be just more of the same. Not terrible, just a little dull

Decent effort for a werewolf book. Not much sex, but otherwise lots of action.

I love patricia briggs. I love her whole setting the characters Bram, Mercedes, Anna and Charles. I want to go live there with them. I want to be in the forest running free with them. She is a master at what she does. I would love to see another book about these two. Anna and Charles. i love them as much as Mercedes and Adam. A definite read.

This is Patricia Briggs second story in this series and I am really enjoying learning more about Charles and Anna, Bran and the rest of the wolf pack. I love Charles and Anna. The story is tightly written with a lot of action throughout it. I was pleasantly surprised to find two characters that I had first read about in "Strange Brew" a compilation of short stories. One of the stories was Patricia Briggs's “Seeing Eye” about a blind witch, Moira, and a man, Tom, who is a werewolf and a cop. Moira is trying to help Tom to find his brother who went missing while on a case. It was great to see these Characters again as they play a substantial role in “Hunting Ground” Book 2. Love this series!

Sent to the Seattle conference, Charles and Anna encounter lycanthropes from across Europe causes plenty of tension between the various groups, and Charles finds that while Anna's Omeganess eases some of the conflict, she's freaked out by all the dominant males. But Anna is attacked while shopping with her new witch friend Moira -- by a gang of vampires using werewolf magic and tactics. Then a couple of people/werewolves at the conference are murdered as well, one by the vampires and the other by a person unknown. Now the fragile peace between alphas starts to unravel and fae magic starts to manipulate them -- and to save his beloved Anna, Charles must uncover who is would do all this. Anna and Charles may be mates and spouses now, but they're clearly still getting used to each other. Anna is now strong enough to stand up to the Beast and recovered enough to show her love for her new hubby, but Charles is struggling with his tough-guy, Brans enforcer image and his "Brother Wolf." And there are plenty of other interesting characters. There's even a pair from one of Briggs' short stories: the werewolf Tom and his blind witch mate Moira.
