Author's Note: The following is a work of fiction. Any resemblance to persons living or dead is purely coincidental. Especially you Jenny Beckman. Bitch
Just because she likes the same bizzaro crap you do doesn't mean she's your soul mate.
Tom: It's official. I'm in love with Summer - I love her smile. I love her hair. I love her knees. I love how she licks her lips before she talks. I love her heart-shaped birthmark on her neck. I love it when she sleeps.
I call this one 500 Days OF Rachel.....And it was actually. Sept.09-Feb.3 2011. And then I was gone.........
Tom: What happens if you fall in love?
Summer: Well, you don't believe that, do you?
Tom: It's love. It's not Santa Claus.
Tom: People don't realize this, but loneliness is underrated.

An interesting way to get you through the 500 Days of Summer...the writer scrambles the days and lets you see what is going on in the budding relationship of a 20 something guy and gal, hired by a card company like Halmark; (i.e. Day 209, they Day 13. Day 95, etc.) Best thing I found about the film was its unique sequencing, (not chronological, not flashback(s) and not a story told in reverse). The story itself did not grab me, but did have a couple of "cute" moments...especially right at the end.
This is a story where boy meets girl - it is not a love story. Tom meets Summer. He instantly falls inlove with her and he knows that she is THE one. But Summer does not believe in love, and has no romantic interest in him - it's what she tells him: they can only be friends. This slowly kills Tom until he starts to feel depressed and start to question the one thing he was always waiting for: faith. It seems that now, when he found THE ONE, she does not want him. How is it possible? This this he so strongly believed in seems to be unreal... How will everything turn out?
I like Zooey, though she reminds me of the 2 Rachels I know. But I think Ilike ' Gigantic 'just a little bit more.
An offbeat romantic comedy about a woman who doesn't believe true love exists, and the young man who falls for her.
After it looks as if she's left his life for good this time, Tom Hansen reflects back on the just over one year that he knew Summer Finn. Despite being physically average in almost every respect, Summer had always attracted the attention of men, Tom included. For Tom, it was love at first sight when she walked into the greeting card company where he worked, she the new administrative assistant. Soon, Tom knew that Summer was the woman with whom he wanted to spend the rest of his life. Although Summer did not believe in relationships or boyfriends - in her assertion, real life will always ultimately get in the way - Tom and Summer became more than just friends. Through the trials and tribulations of Tom and Summer's so-called relationship, Tom could always count on the advice of his two best friends, McKenzie and Paul. However, it is Tom's adolescent sister, Rachel, who is his voice of reason. After all is said and done, Tom is the one who ultimately has to make the choice to listen or not.
