Add a CommentThe "The Beatles" is not a compilation but a fully realized double album recorded in 1968 at EMI Studios in London. Called the White Album due to the cover it was groundbreaking in it's day. The songwriting duo of Lennon/McCartney gave the world more listenable and covered songs then any other song writers since or before. Any fan of music should treat themselves to a spin of the White Album and Sgt Peppers. And preferably on vinyl.
1963?
I'll agree that this is a must-have (for anyone with ears), but I wouldn't call it a compilation. It is actually a double album of songs written on the Beatles' retreat in India. Yes, there are a couple songs that the world could go on revolving without, but who would be doin' it in the road if it wasn't for the White Album?
I thought this was a very good compilation. This is a must for all Beatles fans.
